LifeSize Goes HD for Video Conferencing

High definition video communications company LifeSize today said their new LifeSize Room high definition resolution video conferencing system is now generally available.

The LifeSize Room, the company said, allows users to experience high definition video conferencing at 1Mbps, DVD quality at 512kbps and cable TV quality at 384kbps. Features of this system, which comes with a 70 degree field of view camera, 1280 x 720 codec unit and 22kHz speakerphone, include support for H.264 and H.263 video standards, multimedia streaming of PC content via H.239 and video meeting management software.

“To say that we are very excited about bringing our flagship high definition video product to market would be an understatement,” said Craig Malloy, CEO of LifeSize. “We have spent countless hours and other resources to achieve this goal, and now, with the support of our partners in over twenty countries, we look forward to start changing the future of video communications.”
