Check out our review of the Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet.

The Lumia 1520 smartphone/tablet hybrid may be gathering the majority of the press attention ahead of Nokia’s October 22 event, but we shouldn’t forget about the Nokia Sirius. This is the codename given to Nokia’s much-rumored, and long-awaited, Windows tablet. Now though, we’ve been given an idea of its official name, the Lumia 2520.

While Nokia is obviously wanting to cash-in on the popularity of the Lumia name in Windows Phone circles, don’t be fooled, the tablet won’t be running the phone version of the software, or full Windows 8.1, but probably Windows 8.1 RT. The much-maligned software hasn’t won as many fans as Microsoft hoped, but it is about to receive a boost with the announcement of the Surface 2, which could help its reputation.

So, why has Nokia chosen to use the number 2520? Well, we don’t know for sure, but the number 25 may be related to the screen size of the tablet. It’s rumored to be around 10-inches, which is also coincidentally (or not, as the case may be) about 25-centimeters. This also works with the 1520, as 15-centimeters is 6-inches, which is expected to be the size of the smartphone/tablet hybrid’s screen.

As for the rest of the specifications, leaks have hinted at a 1080p resolution, a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, and a 6.7-megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens being fitted. The ability to connect to a 4G LTE network should also be present, and Nokia may offer a keyboard dock with an extended battery module built-in.

Will Nokia go all out and announce both the Lumia 1520 and the Lumia 2520 at its October 22 event? There’s a good chance it will want to clear the decks ready for Microsoft to take over, so if it’s not October 22, it should be soon afterwards. We’ll bring you all the news as it happens regarding these two exciting Nokia products.

Forget about the TikTok ban; now the U.S. might ban DJI
The DJI Mavic 3 Classic top view in flight

The specter of a U.S. market ban is once again looming over DJI, the biggest drone camera maker in the world. “DJI is on a Defense Department list of Chinese military companies whose products the U.S. armed forces will be prohibited from purchasing in the future,” reports The New York Times.

The defense budget for 2024 mentions a possible ban on importing DJI camera gear for federal agencies and government-funded programs. In 2021, the U.S. Treasury Department put DJI on a list of companies suspected of having ties to the Chinese military and alleged complicity in the surveillance of a minority group, culminating in investment and export restrictions.
