Mitsubishi Digital Electronics today announced its first high-definition projector designed for wide-format laptops and imaging applications which use 16:9 aspect ratio. The new HD4000U is available for $2,995.
The HD4000U, said Mitsubishi, combines Texas Instruments DDP3020 DLP image processing and its own color processing technology to get what the company calls greater brightness and truer colors. Features of this projector include a native resolution of 1280 x 768 (WXGA), a contrast ratio of 2500:1, a weight of 6.4 pounds and 2000 ANSI lumens.
“System consultants and integrators have been requesting a widescreen projector from Mitsubishi that shows excellent video,” said James Chan, director, product marketing, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America, in a statement. “Our HD4000U offers them the flexibility and portability they need for almost any setting.”
