The most Instagrammed places in the world: A Thai mall, Times Square, and Disney

Add as a preferred source on Google

You’ll see some of the same things cropping up over and over again on Instagram, be they selfies or artfully rendered snapshots of Eggs Benedict. Not every Instagram is an original, unique snowflake when it comes to subject matter, and there are certain places that just seem to call out for a nostalgic filter and social sharing. Instagram released a series of lists about the most frequently photographed spots, and this year, top honors go to a mall in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Siam Paragon is an imposingly gigantic luxury mall that boasts the largest aquarium in Southeast Asia and a full hotel, so while it’s not exactly an example of a Great Wonder of the World, it can fit a lot of people, especially the type of people who whip out their smartphones at every available opportunity. The Thai capital is also the second-most Instagrammed city, and its Suvarnabhumi Airport also appears on the list, at number eight.

New York City is the number-one most-Instagrammed city, and Manhattan contains three of the most frequently posted places: Times Square, Central Park, and the High Line.

Other Instagram hubs: Dodger Stadium and the Staples Center in Los Angeles, both Disneyland (California) and Disney World (Florida), and the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas. So even though more than 60 percent of Instagram users share photos outside the U.S., the most frequently captured spots are overwhelmingly American.

Plenty of international cities appear to top Instagram’s list of user hubs, however; in addition to Bangkok, there’s London at number four, Sao Paulo at number five, Moscow at six, and Rio de Janeiro at seven.

TikTok’s AI slop problem is worse than you think — and kids are seeing the most of it
TikTok

TikTok has spent years perfecting the art of knowing exactly what you want to watch next. Open the app, scroll a few times, and suddenly it’s serving videos that feel uncannily tailored to your interests. But what happens before TikTok learns who you are? According to new research from video editing platform Kapwing, the answer is increasingly AI slop.

The study found that nearly 60% of the videos shown to a brand-new TikTok account were low-quality AI-generated content. That’s not a niche problem buried in obscure corners of the platform. It’s the first impression TikTok is making on new users before the algorithm even begins personalizing their feed. And if that sounds concerning, the findings around children’s content are even harder to ignore.

Your Instagram photo dumps just got a caption for every single slide
One toggle, up to 20 captions, and finally a reason to write something for every slide.
Clothing, Hardhat, Helmet

Instagram just made one of its most popular post formats significantly more useful.

Starting today, you can add a unique caption to every single slide in a carousel post. So, instead of one caption trying to explain up to 20 different photos, each slide gets its own text underneath. It is the kind of addition that makes me wonder why it took this long.
