What’s happened? After unveiling its flagship OnePlus 15 last week, OnePlus has now started teasing the more affordable OnePlus 15R, signaling an imminent launch.

  • The company has updated its website in several regions, including Europe, India, and the UK, with a new banner that gives us a glimpse of the upcoming device and highlights an early launch offer for prospective buyers.
  • The OnePlus 15R is expected to be the global version of the Ace 6, which launched in China last month. The teaser image reinforces this possibility, as the device appears to have the same camera island design as the Ace 6.

Why is this important? This teaser confirms that the OnePlus 15R is headed to certain markets, including the UK, India, and parts of Europe. However, the absence of the teaser on OnePlus’ US website suggests that the affordable flagship may not launch stateside or arrive at a later date.

  • Given that OnePlus offered the OnePlus 13R in the US, there’s a strong likelihood that its successor will make it to the market. But it may have been delayed, possibly due to FCC certification issues, similar to the OnePlus 15.
  • While the OnePlus 15R’s US launch may still be uncertain, OnePlus is moving ahead in other markets and has invited potential buyers to subscribe for updates to receive up to £200 off (~$263) or a chance to win the device for free.

Why should I care? If you’re in the market for a new phone that offers top-notch performance at a relatively affordable price, the OnePlus 15R might be worth keeping an eye on.

  • If you live in a region where the teaser has gone live, you can head over to OnePlus’ website and subscribe for updates to stand a chance to get an upfront discount on the phone or, if you’re lucky, even get it for free.
  • And if you’re in the US, you may have to wait longer to get your hands on the affordable flagship, provided it eventually reaches the market.

What’s next? Although OnePlus hasn’t officially confirmed a launch date, the fine print for the launch offer suggests that the company may unveil the OnePlus 15R on or after December 17. The device will likely go on sale shortly after, so you may be able to get your hands on one by the end of the year or early next year.
