According to Screen Crush, The Big Short star Ryan Gosling will host on December 5, followed by Chris Hemsworth (aka Thor) on December 12, but it’s the December 19 hosts that have everyone talking.
Famed SNL alums, noted gal pals, and Sisters co-stars Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will MC the festivities on the show’s final episode of 2015 and, what’s more, they’ll be joined by The Boss. No, not SNL’s boss — The Boss: Bruce Springsteen.
The appearance will mark Tina Fey’s fifth guest-hosting gig and follows her appearances in 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2013. Poehler, on the other hand, has only guest-hosted once, in 2010.
The two women, of course, once co-anchored SNL’s popular Weekend Update segment and the last time they co-hosted an event, they nearly brought the house down at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the 2015 Golden Globes. The pair didn’t pull any punches that night, and — come December 19 — you can expect them to roast themselves and some of their former castmates just as thoroughly as they roasted Hollywood during the Globes.
Before we get too carried away with December’s slate, however, it’s worth noting that Matthew McConaughey will host this Saturday, November 21, with Adele set to appear as a musical guest. McConaughey is not the kind of guest host you sneeze at, but — just like some people forget about Thanksgiving on the way to Christmas — his appearance is going to be a bit overshadowed by what’s looming on the horizon. Circle December 19, 2015 on your calendar, folks. Or — er — input it on your phone calendar and then set your DVR so you can watch it later and fast-forward the commercials … you get the idea.
