Michael Fassbender is in talks for a dark and chilling new role

We last saw Michael Fassbender revolutionize technology in Steve Jobs, but an upcoming role will be much darker. The actor is in talks to play a serial killer in Entering Hades, a film based on a true crime novel, reports Variety.

In the 2007 novel of the same name, John Leake shares the disturbing story of Johann “Jack” Unterweger, a convicted killer whose writing garnered attention from prison. After a campaign to get him released gained traction, he was indeed set free. Ostensibly rehabilitated, he began working as a journalist, and began reporting on murders. (They do say to write what you know, after all.) Horrifyingly, however, he was later found guilty of perpetrating the crimes he had been “investigating.”

Bill Wheeler penned the original script, which Oscar winner Alexander Dinelaris (Birdman) is rewriting. The film is being produced by Bob Cooper and Richard Saperstein of Storyscape Entertainment, alongside DMC Film’s Conor McCaughan and Daniel Emmerson.

“This is exactly the kind of elevated and commercial material that we are looking to produce through our deal with Broad Green,” Cooper and Saperstein said, according to Variety. “Michael Fassbender is one of today’s most talented actors and we are thrilled to be in partnership with him, as well as Conor and Daniel, to bring this extraordinary story to the screen.”

Fassbender has certainly proven himself in a variety of roles over the years, starring as everything from a sex addict to a mutant superhero to a slave owner. The actor has been nominated for two Academy Awards so far: Best Actor for Steve Jobs and Best Supporting Actor for 12 Years a Slave. He should have no problem portraying a calculating serial killer living a double life.

Assuming talks end favorably, we look forward to seeing Fassbender enter Hades in Entering Hades, whenever that may occur. So far, no timeline for the film’s release has been announced.

A WWE Premium Live Event (PLE) is heading to Lyon Metropolis for the first time for WWE Backlash France 2024. Since the formation of TKO in September 2023, WWE has prioritized global expansion. Heading into Backlash, WWE is entering the "American Nightmare Era." After finishing his story at WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes is now the Undisputed WWE Champion. A different era means a new crop of challengers for Rhodes. First up is AJ Styles, a former two-time WWE champion. Rhodes must bring his A-game if he wants to walk out of France as champion.

If you have to watch one Star Wars movie this May the 4th, stream this one
Luke looking off into the binary sunset before dying in The Last Jedi.

Every Star Wars fan has a favorite movie, and many Star Wars fans also hate at least one of the entries in one of their favorite franchises. That can make the exercise of choosing the perfect Star Wars movie to watch on May the 4th difficult. For all of the love this fan base has shown to the franchise over the years, it's also a fan base that has strong opinions about why one movie or another is worthy of your time.

This May 4, though, I'd recommend watching Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Almost undoubtedly the most controversial entry in the saga, one that makes some people furious and others jump for joy, The Last Jedi is worthy of your attention, whether you like what it's doing or not. Here are three reasons you should check it out:
