Dells New OptiPlex Systems Use BTX Design

Both the OptiPlex GX520 and the OptiPlex GX620 are based on the Intel 945G chipset which means the systems can run the new 64-bit Intel processors. The more expensive OptiPlex GX620 has an option to come with dual-core processors and can come available with the new Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 operating system preinstalled. Other differences between the two systems include optional 128MB or 256MB ATI Radeon video cards on the GX620 compared to the integrated Graphics Media Accelerator 950 graphics chip.

Both systems will use the new BTX form factor designed by Intel to provide a cooler and more reliable system.

The starting price of the GX520 is $549. The GX620 starts at $579.

Microsoft is working on a mysterious new web app for Windows dubbed "Designer," which might end up helping you create fancy graphics and other content for presentations or social media. This is coming from the noted leaker WalkingCat, who recently spotted a website for the potential new Microsoft service.

Details on the web app are scarce at the moment, but a series of images from the leaker shows how it might end up working. It looks as though "Designer" could be a lot like PowerPoint Designer, mixed with Microsoft Publisher, as well as Microsoft Sway.
