H&R Block will help you file your income taxes for free

With the turning of the calendar from 2020 to 2021 and another year behind us, it won’t be too long before the dreaded date of April 15, a.k.a. tax day, is upon us. But filing your taxes doesn’t have to be hard. H&R Block will help you do your taxes on your terms— however, whenever, wherever.

H&R Block, which had our favorite full-service tax preparation software last year, can assist you with your filing — whether you are doing your own taxes and have questions or want a tax professional to do your taxes for you. They can answer a quick question, check your work, or do all the work for you, online or in-person.

What does H&R Block offer?

H&R Block offers online tax self-preparation and filing for both your federal and state taxes. Best of all, it is free for many people (depending on your income and the complexity of your filing) to file their federal and state taxes using this service. (If you have to file with more than one state, that will cost extra.) And H&R Block Free Online supports more forms and deductions than competing free services like TurboTax. With tips and guiding questions, as well checks for possible errors and inconsistencies, Block’s service is very easy to use. (I’ve used it for several years and can vouch for this.) Plus, if you run into stumbling blocks (no pun intended), Block’s tax pros are available for on-demand chat and guidance via screen-sharing. Even better, not only can you file from your laptop, but there’s also an app for doing your taxes from your mobile device.

If you’d rather not deal with your taxes at all, H&R Block offers federal and state tax preparation and filing with one of its professionals starting at just $69. All you need to do is securely submit your documents either online, via the MyBlock app, or in-person, then they will do the rest. On average, each of Block’s tax pros has 10 years of experience so there is no tax problem too complicated for them. Once your taxes are prepared, you can meet with your tax pro either via video conferencing, online chat, or if you prefer some real facetime, in-person.

If you do go to any of H&R Block’s more than 10,000 offices, you can rest assured that your safety comes first. All of Block’s associates are required to wear face coverings and maintain social distancing of at least six feet. All desks will be equipped with protective shields and high-contact areas are disinfected frequently.

With this past year presenting financial challenges for so many, your refund is more important than ever. H&R Block guarantees to get you the maximum refund or you’ll get your money back. As such, you can count on Block’s tax pros finding every credit and deduction to which your entitled. Regardless of which service you choose, H&R Block will tell you up front how much it will cost you so there are no surprises later.

This LG 65-inch 4K TV is on sale — from $600 down to $350
LG 65-inch UT70 Series 4K TV

It’s not every day that any 65-inch TV costs less than $400, so you can imagine our surprise when we learned that the LG 65-inch UT70 Series 4K LED is marked down to $350 today at Best Buy! This TV is normally $600, so that's a pretty sweet $250 discount. LG is one of the best TV brands in town, and while they may best be known for premium OLED TVs, LG’s LED models are fantastic, too.

Why you should buy the LG 65-inch UT70 Series
The LG UT70 Series is the type of budget-friendly TV that may not get as bright or colorful as more advanced models but can certainly still hold its own. Whether you plan on using this as a second screen or your main TV, the UT70 leans on LG’s a5 AI Processor Gen 7 for picture processing, 4K upscaling, and low-res content smoothing. So, even if you’re watching non-HD movies and shows, this LG TV will still optimize every frame to ensure you’re getting the best picture possible at all times.

Epson EpiqVision Ultra LS650 in black.

If you’re on the fence about whether to go with a huge TV or a projector, consider this: ultra-short-throw projectors are able to be placed just inches away from a screen or projection surface. Many models can even throw an image as large as 120 inches, including the much-praised Epson LS650 4K UST Projector, which just happens to be on sale for $3,000 at Amazon, Best Buy, Crutchfield, and a handful of other retailers.

This is one of the best projector deals we’ve seen in a long time, so we wouldn’t wait too long to take advantage of the offer.

Amazon’s Fire Max 11 tablet: We liked it at $230, we love it at $185
A person holding the Amazon Kindle Fire Max 11

Last summer we looked at the 2023's Amazon Fire Max 11 once more, concluded it was still among the best Android tablets, and have since stayed essentially silent about it. Until now. That's because there's a limited time deal going on over at Amazon for their Fire Max 11 tablet.

Usually it is $230 but while this deal lasts it is $185. That's a savings of 20% or, to save you the arithmetic, $45 off. And, of course, that brings new life and interest to the machine. You can tap the button below to see the deal for yourself. It's been awhile since this tablet (again, one of the best Android tablets) has gotten hype, so you're excused for having forgotten about all of its details. But don't worry, if you keep reading, we'll bring you back up to speed.
