A few more spots have been filled on the Matthew Vuaghn’s X-Men: First Class movie, according to various reports. Jason Flemyng (Clash of the Titans, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) has reportedly been cast as Azazel, a teleporting mutant that is also the father of the later X-man Nightcrawler. According to Suerpherohype, while the deal is not yet final, the news came from Flemyng himself, which suggests the deal is all but done.

Flemyng has appeared in several of Vaughn’s movies, usually in a cameo, or as a supporting actor.

And while the news of Flemying being cast may be all but official, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Rose Byrne (Damages, Get Him to the Greek) is still in negotiations to play Dr. Moira MacTaggert, a potential love interest for James McAvoy’s Professor Charles Xavier.

Due out June 3, 2011, Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class will also star Michael Fassbender as a young Magneto, Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw, and Alice Eve as Emma Frost. More casting news should be coming soon, as filming is set to begin later this month.

Then there's the time travel thing, making it all even more complicated with rebooted timelines and possible futures. The franchise also has some uneven quality -- including some of the best superhero movies you'll ever see, along with a few of the worst.

The March 2019 acquisition of 21st Century Fox by The Walt Disney Company generated plenty of business headlines, but one of the biggest conversation topics among superhero movie fans was what the deal meant for Marvel Comics' famous mutants, the X-Men.

With Wolverine, Jean Grey, and the rest of Marvel's team of mutant superheroes now under the Disney banner, and essentially confirmed to be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige during San Diego Comic-Con, X-Men's arrival in the MCU is only a matter of time. Given everything we know about the MCU and Marvel Comics mythology, there are more than a few plausible scenarios that could bring the X-Men into the universe shared by the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy. Here are five intriguing narrative possibilities that could help Marvel ease the transition nicely.
