Assassin’s Creed Valhalla romance guide

Vikings need love too — Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla includes the romance feature made popular by its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. Romance will allow Eivor to engage in romantic relationships with different NPCs throughout the game.

It won’t be obvious which characters Eivor can court. It will take a little bit of digging and side-questing. This guide will let you know which NPCs can be romanced and where to find them.

Who is looking for love?

With a game as large as Valhalla, we can expect handfuls of different romantic options to continue appearing as the game undergoes updates and players discover new side quests and world events. One thing to keep in mind is NPCs that can be romanced will always have a name. They won’t just be “Saxon Woman” or “Nordic Man.” There’s also no real indication that they’ll pursue Eivor as a love interest. You’ll have to do a few quests for that character before they either ask you out or make a move. Switching genders also has no effect on which characters Eivor can romance with.

Unlike Odyssey, Eivor can’t just go around engaging in open relationships with anybody he or she pleases. They’ll have to break off their current relationship to begin a new one. While romancing around England won’t necessarily propel Eivor’s story forward, it can be a nice break from grinding XP and skill points.

Here are all known NPCs that are interested in Eivor and how you can kick off a loving relationship.

Bil (Norway)

Before leaving for England, Eivor can help this Danish woman find her lost comb. She can be found in the mountains of Rygjafylke, marked by a blue world-event orb.  Completing the quest will prompt Bil to ask Eivor if she’d like to “comb her hair.” Eivor can hopefully take a hint. You could return to Norway and court Bil if you happened to miss the quest at the beginning.

Randavi

Yes, that Randavi — your brother’s wife. It looks like there are no real rules of courtship in Raven culture! You can venture off with Randavi and discover a letter written by her professing her love to you. This will trigger after completing three allegiances at the War Table. Eivor probably could have seen this coming — Randavi foreshadows it when she complains about Sigurd’s constant absence.

Petra

Once you build the Hunter’s Hut, Petra will engage Eivor in a few different side quests. She’ll take Eivor on a wild wolf hunt, as well as a magic mushroom trip. Continue to engage with her until she invites you to a friendly archery contest. From there, Petra’s advances will be pretty obvious.

Vili Hemmingson

While playing through the Snotinghamscire questline, Eivor will end up sitting with Vili by a fire. He will suggest that the two of them take their relationship to a “more friendly” level. Eivor is free to deny his advances, which will leave him disappointed but ultimately unchanged.

Broder

Eivor will encounter Broder when completing main story missions in East Anglia. The two will first meet in a “friendly” fistfight. Their story will circle Oswald’s wedding. After liberating East Anglia, Broder will be rather forthright about courting Eivor. He’ll ask if Eivor would like to lay with him sometime during Oswald’s wedding. Yes or no, it’s up to you.

Gunlodr

After making it to the Asgard portion of the main story, Eivor will find Thor’s Bridal Circlet. Eivor can give the circlet to Gunlodr, an NPC met in Jotunheim. Eivor will have to wait until the second time she visits Asgard for Gunlodr’s romance option to open up.

Stigr

Eivor will find Stigr in Hemthorpe village located in the Snotinghamscire region of England. A flying Icon will mark him. You can win Stigr’s heart with Eivor’s flying ability. Once you “defeat” him in a flying duel, Stigr will invite Eivor to a secluded location where they’ll get a little frisky.

Tarben

Eivor will find Tarben in Ravensthorpe after building the bakery. He’ll invite Eivor on a short fishing trip where he’ll come clean about his feelings for Eivor. It’s not totally clear if players also have to build the fishing hut to go fishing with Tarben. However, there’s no reason not to have both.

Tewdwr

During the Glowecestre story arc, Eivor will be drinking with Tewdwr during what can only be described as Nordic Halloween. It’s actually Eivor who will initiate the romantic relationship. A heart will mark a dialogue option while the two are drinking together. However, this won’t spark anything yet. At the end of the  Glowecestre storyline, Eivor will receive a letter from Tewdr asking to meet in private. It’s here that Eivor will be given multiple Romance dialogue options.

With big plans for future expansions, there’s no telling how many more romance options Eivor will have in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. You can watch the full post-launch expansion trailer here.

How to use an external hard drive on PS5

The PlayStation 5 is a remarkable system, but it doesn't come with much storage space. Breaking from the 1TB the Xbox Series X offers, the PS5 only offers 825GB. Worse, after accounting for the storage space the PS5 takes up by default, users are left with just over 650GB of space. Thankfully, you can use external storage to expand your space, and in this guide, we're going to show you how to use an external hard drive on PS5.
How to use an external HDD or SSD on PS5

Before you can use an external hard drive on PS5, you need to make sure it's compatible. It doesn't matter if your external drive is a hard disk drive (HDD) or solid-state drive (SSD), you can use it on PS5 as long as it uses USB 3.0 or later. USB 2.0 external hard drives won't work. Because they won't work, you'll need to connect your external hard drive to one of the two USB-A ports on the back of the PS5. The USB-A port on the front is only rated for USB 2.0, so it won't work. Also, plug the drive directly into a console (don't use a USB hub or extension cable).
