How to start a private solo server

If you're just starting to play Enshrouded and are learning the ropes or just want to test a build when you aren't playing with others, you can quickly jump into a private solo server and keep to yourself. This server will be saved locally and will not be accessible to anyone else (unless you later decide to convert it to a public server).

Step 1: From the main menu, select Play.

Step 2: On the play selection screen, select Private.

How to create a server to play with friends

You can also create a server to play with up to 16 other players at once. You can create a password-protected server to play with only invited friends or a public server that allows any player to join.

Step 1: From the main menu, select Play.

Step 2: On the play selection screen, select Host.

Step 3: Select the Create button next to New Game. Here you can name your server, set a password and set a limit on the number of players that can join the server. You can also adjust these settings later by selecting Edit from the Start a public game menu.

How to join an existing server

Once you've created a server, your friends will have to find it to join. You can also explore these menus to browse and join other public servers hosted by other players. Hosting a server stored locally gives you server control. While online, others can join; however, if you log out, the server becomes inactive.

Hosting as server can be taxing on your PC, depending on its quality. Hosting a server for a few friends is possible but a hosting a 16-person server requires more serious hardware.

Step 1: From the main menu, select Play.

Step 2: On the play selection screen, select Join.

Step 3: In the Online games menu, you'll be presented with a long list of public servers to join.

Step 4: Use the Server filter sidebar to find a server. If you're looking for a specific server, your best bet is using the server name search bar to find it. If you have a lot of friends playing, you can also select the filter that only shows friend sessions to narrow your options.

Step 5: When you've found the correct server, select Join. If the server is password protected, you'll be asked to enter a password. Otherwise, you'll immediately enter the game.

Best PlayStation Plus Deals: Save on Essential, Plus and Premium
Best PS Plus deals

While the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 are excellent consoles, especially for those who don't want to invest in a gaming PC, you tend to lose out on a lot if you don't have one of Sony's online subscriptions. You see, a PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) subscription offers, is access to online multiplayer, and without it, you can't connect to online servers and play with other folks, which is a bit frustrating. Luckily, a PS Plus membership does offer some additional features, such as free games every month and access to some older PS games, all of which depend on which of the three tiers you subscribe to: Essential, Extra, and Premium.
What is PlayStation Plus?
Along with online multiplayer and other in-game network features, a PlayStation Plus Essential membership grants you access to exclusive discounts and other promotions. Perhaps the most notable benefit of PlayStation Plus is that every month, Sony gives subscribers one PlayStation 5 and two PlayStation 4 games that are free to download. You have one month to add these free PlayStation Plus games to your library.

After that, these titles are yours to keep so long as you have an active PlayStation Plus subscription. The free-to-download games are generally pretty good (they are often some of the best PS4 games that have been out for a little while), and these alone justify the cost of PS Plus even for people who don't do a lot of online gaming.

PlayStation 6: release date speculation, price, specs, and more
sony reveals customizable ps5 dualsense edge controller front and back

In a recent quote, Sony Senior Vice President Naomi Matsuoka said: "Looking ahead, PS5 will enter the latter stage of its life cycle." Many in the industry took that to mean that we may be hearing about the next PlayStation console sooner rather than later.

Considering Sony has yet to break its naming convention, it feels safe to assume whatever future home console we get will be called the PlayStation 6. But not only has the name not been officially confirmed, but neither has the idea of a next-generation PlayStation console or even a PS5 Pro. It's almost a guarantee, but technically nothing is set in stone. Rumors and potential leaks have already started stirring up excitement, so let's see what the future of PlayStation may look like according to the rumors.
