2K Games

When you are setting up a game of Civilization 7 you will have a lot of options to tweak to create your ideal experience. Our tips and tricks begin in this step before getting into things like Ages and Influence, but one thing you can't fully control is the map. The map options at your disposal are continents plus, continents, archipelago, fractal, shuffle, and terra incognita, as well as tiny, small, or standard sizes. No matter which combination you pick, almost every important detail of the map will be randomized. This includes starting positions, terrain, resources, and more. Thankfully Civilization 7 creates a seed of every game you play so you can try the same map again or share them with friends online. Here's how to see your game seed.

How to mount monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds
A hunter on a monster's back in Monster Hunter Wilds.

If you watched any of the trailers for Monster Hunter Wilds then you know it is possible to mount your target to inflict some big damage. Much like Power Clashes and Offset Attacks, this mechanic is woefully under tutorialized in the game to the point where you can go hours without ever figuring out the tips and tricks necessary to pull it off. This is a shame not only because of how useful it can be to quickly take down a monster but also because it is just so cool to do. There are a lot of nuances to mounting a raging beast, so we'll give you all info you need on how to mount monsters and what to do once you're on its back.

A hunter on a Seikret in Monster Hunter Wilds.

The goal of Monster Hunter Wilds is, as expected, to hunt monsters using a host of powerful weapons. For the first dozen or so hours of the game, you will be killing all your targets with Power Clashes, Offset Attacks, mounting them, and any other tips and tricks you've picked up along the way. However, you will eventually reach a point where you need to take a monster down without killing it. Like everything else in Monster Hunter Wilds, the game just sort of expects you to either already know how to do this or be able to figure out its mysterious systems on your own. This is a complex mechanic so we will break down all the steps to capture a monster in Monster Hunter Wilds.
How to capture monsters

Starting in mission 4-1, capturing monsters will start to become a requirement for progressing through the story. The tutorial itself gives you a basic idea of what to do, but it is far from sufficient for new hunters.

There are a lot of unintuitive systems in Monster Hunter Wilds that you need to read a ton of tips and tricks to understand. For example, changing your character's appearance, changing your armor appearance, and editing your character are all different systems. The latter is especially odd since they require a consumable item called Character Edit Vouchers to access. To help you understand what the difference between these are and how you can get these special vouchers, here's a full breakdown of how you can edit your character in Monster Hunter Wilds.
How to get and use character edit vouchers

Before we get to the bad news regarding Character Edit Vouchers, let's first go over the situations in which you would even need one. You can change a ton about your character by just changing their appearance at your Base Camp, but not everything. The only options that are locked behind the use of a voucher are:
