Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Ouroboros Fusion guide and all partner combinations

From the outside, most JRPGs appear similar. Typically people slot them into either turn-based or action RPGs, but in reality each one introduces or reinvents mechanics within those basic boundaries to different degrees to spice up the gameplay. This could be as simple as how spells work, how elements react, or how turns are decided. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 plays out in real time with a party of characters fighting in the field all at once. Aside from the smaller mechanical elements, the big new addition to this JRPG is the Ouroboros system.

The Ouroboros form isn’t just a strong move to pull out during fights, though it certainly fits that description. It is also tied directly into the narrative of Xenoblade Chronicles 3. These powerful forms can turn the tide of battle, but there’s just as much depth to this form as there is any other character. Plus, there’s more than one possible Ouroboros transformation depending on which characters create it. Let’s break down how Ouroboros fusion works in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and every partner combination you can try.

How Ouroboros works

Ouroboros forms are made by fusing two of your party members together into a single unit through a process called Ouroboros interlink. Each possible combination results in a different form that have their own moves, strengths, and weaknesses. Not only that, but depending on which of the two characters you’re currently controlling when activating Ouroboros, you will get a slightly different version, leading to double the possibilities.

You just need to hit left on the D-pad while in combat to transform into the Ouroboros form.

How to unlock Ouroboros forms

Being such a strong move, and with Xenoblade Chronicles 3 loving to dish out tutorials over many hours, you won’t start off the game with this powerful move in your tool belt. In fact, you will only get access to some forms at first, with the second half coming later.

To unlock your first three Ouroboros forms, simply proceed through the game and complete chapter 2. The second set of three will be added to your set once you finish chapter 3.

Ouroboros tips

As great as the Ouroboros form is, you need to keep an eye on your timer. Just like all powerful fusions, they won’t last forever. Make sure you keep a close eye on the Ouroboros symbol that appears on the bottom left of the screen when you enter the form that will tick down to let you know when your fusion is about to end. Using Arts will make this gauge drain faster, so be warned. Once the meter is drained, the form will go on cooldown before you can use it again. To shorten this cooldown, you can manually cancel your Ouroboros form just before it runs out naturally.

The transformation process can also be used tactically. While transforming, your character will temporarily become invincible, so if you’re facing a boss that is about to unleash a devastating attack you can’t dodge in time, transforming could easily save your life. Just be warned that once the form ends, you will be spit back out at the same HP level you were when you entered.

Ouroboros have access to Ouroboros Talent Arts with the A button, but these need to be charged up by attack canceling into regular Arts. But, since Ouroboros skills can be spammed without any cooldowns, you can freely chain attack with your Arts to fill up your Talent Arts in no time.

You should also be smart about which characters you choose to fuse. For example, if your party only has one healer and one tank, you probably don’t want to fuse them and leave your other party members on their own. Essentially, aside from damage dealers, try not to leave your party without at least one support class.

Finally, make sure you upgrade your Ouroboros forms. Leveling up requires the use of Soul Points, or SP, which you can earn by completing quests, reaching specific landmarks in the world, and even inside of certain containers. Once you have some SP to spend, go into the Soul Tree to upgrade your forms in the following ways:

  • Learn Skill: This teaches your Ouroboros forms new skills, which you should focus on first since you will start off with no skills.
  • Heat Control: This upgrade increases the duration you can remain in Ouroboros form.
  • Enhance Art: This is a simple damage buff to make your Ouroboros hit harder with all their attacks and Arts.

There are six characters in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 that can pair up with one other character to make unique Ouroboros forms. With two possible permutations with each pair, that leaves you with a total of six forms. Here’s how they all break down.

Noah and Mio

If Noah is your character when fusing, you get a massive tank of an Ouroboros that can dish out tons of damage with its Arts, plus a high critical hit chance.

Mio’s form is less powerful, but makes up for it with higher agility, block rate, and a smidge higher crit chance.

Eunie and Taion

With Eunie in the driver’s seat, you get a powerful healer and all-around support unit that can provide tons of buffs to your team.

Taion’s is similar, but rather than give your team buffs, they are more focused on applying status effects on enemies.

Lanz and Sena

Starting with Lanz, you get the second most powerful attacker Ouroboros there is, plus a giant block rate, making it a reliable boss killer.

Sena’s form takes the prize as the No. 1 attack Ouroboros in the game, with decent agility, but at the cost of block rate.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: all piano sheet music locations and rewards

While there's no shortage of ways to distract yourself while playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, one of the most unexpected minigames is the surprisingly deep piano system. In most of the major hub towns you encounter across the expansive world, Cloud can find a piano to sit down at and tickle the keys. You're free to play any song you want in free play, but you can turn this system into a full-on rhythm game, almost like Guitar Hero, by collecting sheet music of some of the game's most iconic tracks. There's even an NPC near each piano who will reward you if you get a high enough rank on each song. Cloud may not be the most expressive in his words, but he can sure play the piano with heart. Here is where you can find all the sheet music and what rewards await if you can master them.
Where to find all sheet music

Sheet music, thankfully, isn't hidden away in chests or has to be purchased for crazy amounts of Gil, but a few do have some hidden requirements. Each new composition is found on a piano in the world and is free to snag once you sit down. Even if you don't feel like playing right then and there, make sure you always at least grab the music to add to your collection so you don't have to backtrack later and get it. There are eight in total to find, and some will only come later in the story, but none are missable once you open up fast travel back to previous areas. This is the natural order you can collect them.
On Our Way
Our first piece of music can be picked up once you hit Chapter 4. During this section, go to the Crow's Nest town in the Junon region, which you can only enter by doing the "When Words Won't Do" side quest. Once you complete this quest and can freely enter the town, hit up the bar and grab this tune.
Tifa's Theme
After a rather exciting cruise to Costa del Sol in Chapter 6, you can add this piece to your collection by making a quick stop at the fancy Royal Crown Hotel.
Barret's Theme
Not much further into the game in Chapter 7 you will visit Barret's old hometown of Corel. The Rock Bottom Bar is waiting with his song.
Cinco de Chocobo
Chapter 9 takes you through the town of Gongaga. Even a town way out in the forest has a piano, which means yet another song to snag.
Two Legs? Nothin' to it
One chapter later, in Chapter 10, you need to do a little exploring in Cosmo Canyon to find your way to the piano, but the icon on your map won't lead you astray.
Aerith's Theme
Perhaps the most iconic song in the entire game, if not the franchise, is hidden behind a completely optional side quest. Once you reach Chapter 11, return to Nibelheim and do the "White-Haired Angel" side quest. It may seem totally irrelevant, but the quest ends with you playing and collecting this song.
Let the Battles Begin!
Once you prove your skills and get an A rank or better on all prior songs, you will get this new one as a reward from the NPC Dorian next to all pianos.
One-Winged Angel
We're not sure if fighting Sephiroth or getting this song is harder. If you want to play this terrifying arrangement, you need to donate all 88 Treasure Trove items to Johnny. This more or less requires you to 100% the entire game
All song rewards
For every song you A rank, Dorian will give you a prize when you talk to him. Here's everything you can get:

All Legendary Schematics in Palworld and where to find them

Despite featuring all the various types of Pals in Palworld so heavily, they are not actually the most effective way to fight. Sure, they will help you out, and a Legendary can certainly pull its weight in a battle, but you will mostly be relying on your own character to do the work. This is what makes crafting new weapons and armor so important. Most of these you can access simply by leveling up and getting the required materials to make them, but the best of the best can only be made after finding their schematics. If you want only the top-tier gear in Palworld, then you will be hunting for the Legendary Schematics. These will give you access to a range of otherwise unobtainable weapons and armor that can make you all but invincible. Here is how you can get these blueprints for yourself in Palworld.
All Legendary Schematics

There are only nine Legendary Schematics in Palworld, with six dedicated to weapons and the remaining three for armor. Each one is a drop from a specific Alpha Pal in the open world. Note that you are not guaranteed a Legendary Schematic drop. These are rare, probably below 10%, so you will almost certainly have to repeat these battles to get the schematics. Here is a list of your targets and where to find them.
Crossbow Legendary Schematic
The crossbow upgrade boosts your attack to 490 and can be picked up by defeating the level 23 Bushi. It is located at coordinates 1116, 491.
Handgun Legendary Schematic
The Legendary handgun completely transforms the nearly useless base model by upping its attack to 625. Get it by defeating the level 29 Beakon at coordinates 345, -253.
Assault Rifle Legendary Schematic
Who doesn't love the Assault Rifle? Make it deal 560 damage after taking down a level 49 Blazmut waiting at coordinates 434, 532.
Old Bow Legendary Schematic
If you want a bow that smacks enemies with 247 damage arrows, you need to grind out Kingpaca at coordinates 50, -460.
Pump-Action Shotgun Legendary Schematic
If you're a fan of CQC, the shotgun schematic will buff your damage to 385. Suzaku will hold it and is a level 45 Pal found at coordinates 404, 255.
Rocket Launcher Legendary Schematic
Look, sometimes you just need a problem-solver. A Rocket Launcher dealing 14,000 damage can't be argued with in that regard. You'll have to take on the level 50 Jetragon at coordinates 788, 320.
Cloth Armor Legendary Schematic
Not quite on the level as the following two, this schematic is great for the mid game with 112 HP, 24 Defense, and 250 Durability. You only need to beat a level 11 Chillete at coordinates 175, -420.
Pal Metal Helmet Legendary Schematic
This shiny new helmet offers 560 HP, 1,200 Durability, and 240 Defense. Grab it early to make getting the rest of the schematics easier, but you will have to overcome level 50 Frostallion at coordinates -355, 55.
Heat and Cold Resistant Pal Metal Armor Legendary Schematic
Both the Legendary Heat and Cold Resistant Pal Metal Armor drop from the same target. Both have equal stats and give 1,200 HP, 11,000 Durability, and 400 Defense. And, of course, they resist hot and cold weather respectively. You will need to take down the level 50 Paladius up north at coordinates 445, 680.

Where to find the Black Marketeer in Palworld

Guns aren't the only darker subject matter Palworld takes on that may surprise those who see it as just a Pokemon clone. Beyond collecting Pals and resources like Ancient Civilization parts to craft buildings, you will also be able to procure some rather dubious items, such as people. While you can put them to work for you, there is an entire network of black market sales that you can participate in that can be very lucrative if you don't mind doing some morally grey business deals. If you're ready to participate in the dark underbelly that is Palworld, here is where you can find all the Black Marketeers to buy and sell rare items.
All Black Marketeer locations
There are five different Black Marketeers to find hidden in the wilds of Palworld. They are all well-hidden, and some you won't be able to reach until later in the game, but thankfully all seem to buy and sell the same stock at the same prices. Note that they do have a limited stock of items for sale, but will refresh if you leave and come back after some time.
Abandoned Mineshaft

From the Desolate Church fast travel point, head west to find the Abandoned Mineshaft location. Venture into the mine and you will run into the first Black Marketeer dead ahead.
