The holiday shopping season is in full swing. The promotional emails are flooding inboxes everywhere, the daily deals show no sign of stopping – if you thought that Black Friday and Cyber Monday were the end of this madness, you were very wrong.

In the midst of all the emailed deals, social shopping promos, and Pinterest overload, it’s difficult to know what the real “hot ticket” items of the holiday season are. Where is the Tickle-Me-Elmo of 2013?!

Google rolled out the latest version of Chrome OS this week, and one more notable update involves what the tech giant has always been known for: search.

Chrome OS 74 now offers a search experience that combines Google Assistant, device searching, and web searching. Chrome OS users can now search their device, search for apps and search the web all just by using the search box, according to a report on 9to5Google. Additionally, the search box also allows users to view and edit their search histories just by tapping the box. Google Assistant was also incorporated into the search utility for Chrome OS.

Privacy-focused search engine DuckDuckGo is now listed as a default search option on Google’s Chrome browser.

DuckDuckGo has been added as part of Chrome’s latest update (version 73), which rolled out on Tuesday, March 12, and should be showing for users in 60 countries around the world, including the United States.
