Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead shuffled through the end of 2012, feasting mightily on many of the big name games that came out around. Digital Trends didn’t name AAA games like Halo 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, or Assassin’s Creed 3, games that cost tens of millions of dollars to develop and many more to market, its game of the year. That honor went to Telltale’s remarkably affecting story. The studio was quick to confirm in the wake of The Walking Dead: Episode 5’s release that it would produce The Walking Dead Season 2. Fans of the series may not have to wait for that season to start though, as Telltale says it might release new content in the interim.

“I can tell you what you already know, which is Season 2 is coming,” writer Gary Whitta told IGN, “There’s not much to say because it really is very early. It’s a way off. But, knowing that it’s a way off, and knowing that people are hungry for more Walking Dead, there may very well be more Walking Dead from Telltale before Season 2. We may have something extra for you between Season 1 and 2.”

The idea is that Telltale is hoping to “make the wait for Season 2 slightly less agonizing.”

There could be a more practical reason for introducing new content for The Walking Dead prior to the release of Season 2. Telltale Games has also said that it wants to give players a way to keep the continuity of their Season 1 playthrough when they begin Season 2. “This all remains to be seen but we are definitely figuring out how to carry the saves over,” said CEO Dan Connors in January.

The problem is that some editions of The Walking Dead, specifically the Xbox 360 edition of the game, have suffered from serious glitches affecting the stability of save files. It’s possible that Telltale is developing an add-on release for the first season that could add new narrative elements and better facilitate the storage of player-specific data before the release of Season 2.

A closeup of the big shot revolver.

Legendary weapons in Dead Island 2 are among the most powerful tools of destruction you can get your hands on. These come in a variety of types, but there's only one that's a revolver. The Big Shot is aptly named for just how much power this hand cannon is packing. Naturally, any Slayer will want to get their hands on it, but it isn't quite as simple as finding some of the other weapons in the game. Here's how you can become a big shot yourself by getting the Big Shot in Dead Island 2.

A close up and description of the blood rage dagger.

It isn't a full-on loot game, but Dead Island 2 does have its fair share of rare and powerful weapons to collect. There are random drops and blunt objects you'll pick up off the ground, but the best of the best are going to be the Legendary weapons. If you're a fan of the more lightweight, fast-attacking weapon types, then the Blood Rage dagger is one you'll certainly want to get your hands on. You won't find this Legendary dagger just laying around, though. Here's how to get the Blood Rage in Dead Island 2.

Which character should you pick in Dead Island 2?
Dani lights a cigarette as zombies attack her from behind in Dead Island 2 key art.

After a brief introductory sequence showing how each of the playable characters, referred to as Slayers in Dead Island 2, end up on the doomed evacuation plane at the start of the game, you are forced to pick who you will play as. If you hadn't played the first game -- and considering it came out over 10 years ago we wouldn't blame you if you hadn't -- then you may not know that your choice of character is more than just cosmetic. Each of the six playable Slayers not only starts off with its own stat distribution from the others but with two ability cards as well. In a narrative sense, almost nothing is different depending on who you pick, so this decision all comes down to choosing the right character for how you prefer to play. Don't let the excitement of bashing in some zombie heads rush your decision and first make sure you understand just how important this choice is in Dead Island 2.
Can you change characters in Dead Island 2?

This is the main reason your character choice is so important. In Dead Island 2, once you choose a Slayer, you're locked in for the duration of the game. If you want to try out a different character, you will need to start the game over from scratch, so unless you're okay with undoing all your progress, or want to do a second playthrough, give this decision a good deal of thought so you don't have any regrets.
