Lifetime plans to air an unauthorized Full House story, and the promo pic is enough to creep anyone out, with several no-name actors dressed in signature ‘80s/’90s garb from the original show, set to play each main character. Variety reports that the show will look at the “real story” behind the popular ’80s/’90s sitcom Full House, including the struggles the cast members encountered during filming.

Most notably, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen started on the show as little babies, and quickly rose to fame as that super-cute Michelle Tanner kid with the one-liners, like “You Got it, Dude.” Once people found out it was two girls who played the part, minds were blown. And there’s likely a story there dealing with the twins’ quick rise to fame.

Meanwhile, main man Danny Tanner, played by Bob Saget, was a straight-laced single dad who worked as a morning TV show host. He couldn’t be any more square, despite efforts by his goofy best friend Joey (Dave Coulier) and rocker brother-in-law Uncle Jesse (John Stamos) to loosen him up. But in stark contrast, Saget himself was known to have a potty mouth, as his comedy stylings have proven. Did any of that cursing and raunchy talk go on behind the scenes?

Coulier was busy allegedly inspiring the lyrics to Alanis Morrissette’s massive hit song You Oughtta Know from the album Jagged Little Pill, which came out the same year Full House ended. And Candice Cameron-Bure, who played eldest daughter DJ Tanner, and will star in the upcoming reboot series on Netflix, was on the verge of becoming a Christian towards the show’s end. That move was likely inspired by her born-again brother Kirk Cameron, who was starring on another show at the time, Growing Pains, and going through some growing pains of his own.

This unauthorized story will be similar to one Lifetime did on Saved by the Bell, with the same writer, Ron McGee, behind it. It will be executive produced by the same team as well, which includes Harvey Kahn and Stephen Bulka.

The program will air at 8 p.m. on August 22, and will star Garrett Brawith as Bob Saget, Justin Mader as Dave Coulier, Justin Gaston at John Stamos, Stephanie Bennett as Lori Loughlin (who played Aunt Becky), Shelby Armstrong and Brittney Wilson as a younger and older DJ Tanner, respectively, Dakota Guppy and Jordyn Olson as a younger and older Jodie Sweetin (middle child Stephanie Tanner), Blaise and Kinslea Todd as toddler Michelle Tanner, Calla and Tyla Jones as six-year-old Michelle, and Jordan Armstrong at age nine, and Aislyn Watson and Jaime Schneider as younger and older Andrea Barber (neighbour and DJ’s best friend Kimmy Gibbler.)

The Netflix reboot show, Fuller House, will follow the life of DJ Tanner, played by Cameron-Bure, following the death of her husband. Her best friend Kimmy and younger sister Stephanie come to live with her and her two kids (with one on the way) to help out, just as Danny’s best friend and brother-in-law joined him following the tragic death of his wife in the original show. It will air some time in 2016. Cameron-Bure, Sweetin, and Barber will star, while Stamos will produce. All other main characters, minus the Olsen twins, have confirmed their appearance for at least the reunion episode to kick things off.
