Cold War Kids – Mine Is Yours

Back with their first album in three years, this California-bred quartet has a lot to live up to with the success of their last two albums, starting with 2006’s Robbers & Cowards and the hit single “Hang Me Up To Dry.” The soul/punk group’s unique style and powerful song topics are still there on Mine Is Yours, which should please hardcore fans and newcomers alike.

Iron & Wine – Kiss Each Other Clean

This new album from Iron & Wine might come as a bit of a surprise to fans of the mellower stylings of 2008’s Shepherd’s Dog. Kiss Each Other Clean revamps Sam Beam’s style from sleepy folk lullabies into a more intricately layered folk-rock sound that is brighter and cheerier than before. It’s an evolution for Beam and there’s no doubt that Iron & Wine fans will enjoy the ride.

Amos Lee – Mission Bell

Amos Lee comes to this new album with the addition of a surprising backing band: the Americana-folk men from Calexico. The bluesy singer-songwriter took this influence to heart and created an intimate album that skillfully combines his soulful vocals with quiet folk framework.
