LG KU250 Phone Selected in 3G Campaign

LG KU250 Phone Selected in 3G Campaign

12 operators world-wide have selected the slim and attractive LG KU250 handset for use in the GSM Association’s All campaign. The handset will be available at wholesales pricing (about 30% less than normal) and contains a chipset supplied by Qualcomm.

What’s surprising about the whole promotion is that this is a phone people will actually want to use. Measuring in at a mere 15mm thick, the KU250 mobile supports video calls, high-speed internet access, and other multimedia features. "The 3G for All campaign has had a great response from both handset and chipset vendors demonstrating their commitment to work with operators to drive usage of 3G services," said Craig Ehrlich, chairman of the GSMA,”A highly-capable device that is as attractive and cost-effective as the leading 2G multimedia handsets, the LG-KU250 has clear mass-market appeal and will help fuel interest in third-generation services across the world."

"Qualcomm believes that one of our responsibilities is helping to make advanced wireless voice and Internet connectivity available to more people worldwide," said Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, CEO of Qualcomm. "We are proud to have been a part of this program with the GSMA and applaud their initiative in bringing the industry together toward this common goal of speeding the growth of 3G and multimedia services worldwide, though enhanced competition and consumer choice."

The attractive LG KU250 phone will be available too all 3GSM operators sometimes in the 2nd quarter. Also worth noting is that the GSM Association has chosen the Nokia 6151 as part of the GSM push campaign. The 3G for All campaign is the second program designed by the GSMA to create economies of scale for handset makers and their component suppliers.

Because 3G makes the world a better place, doesn’t it?

LG’s V50 ThinQ is a different take on the folding phone, and it supports 5G
The LG V50 ThinQ will be available from Verizon starting on June 20
LG V40 ThinQ Review

LG apparently couldn't help itself and decided to move up launch plans for its latest V-series flagship smartphone. Though V-series phones are typically released in the fall, the company has just announced the V50 ThinQ just five months after the LG V40 ThinQ released. It shares many of the same qualities with its very recent predecessor, but there's an unconventional addition that can turn it into a foldable phone, and the highlight is its ability to connect to 5G networks.

Didn't LG just launch another flagship smartphone? Yes, at MWC 2019, the company took the wraps off the LG G8 ThinQ, a follow-up to last year's LG G7 ThinQ. The new V50 carries a few of the same features as the new phone as well, and you can read more about the G-series phone in our full LG V50 review. But here's what the V50 ThinQ is all about.
5G!
The V50 ThinQ's marquee feature is the Qualcomm X50 modem inside the Snapdragon 855 processor, which means it can connect to 5G networks. That attribute is highlighted by the gaudy 5G logo on the back of the phone, which lights up in yellow (presumably because this phone will be launching on Sprint first).

The Honor Magic 6 RSR is my new favorite Android phone of 2024
Someone holding the Honor Magic 6 RSR outside.

There's no doubt that 2024 has already been an exciting year for Android phones. Samsung wowed us with the Galaxy S24 series at the beginning of the year, the OnePlus 12 and 12R are two of the best phones available right now, and Google is expected to impress later this month with the Google Pixel 8a.

But for the last few weeks, I haven't been thinking about any of those phones. Why? Because I've been using the Honor Magic 6 RSR. After launching in China this past March, the Magic 6 RSR is now available in the EU, and that's allowed more folks than ever to get their hands on the phone. And that's great, because the Honor Magic 6 RSR has quickly become my new favorite Android phone of 2024.
