Rise In Game Accessory Sales

The holidays weren’t just a bonanza for game consoles and, of course, games themselves. They also brought a big boost to game accessories, according to a story in the Financial Times.   The Wii Fit, which focuses on health, was launched in Japan on December 1, since when it’s sold half a million copies. It uses a balance board shaped like bathroom scales.   Accessories are becoming more and more integral to games. In the US the top selling game, Guitar Hero III from Activision, uses a guitar accessory. How popular is it? During November it accounted for 17% of all game sales, a staggering figure given the strong competition. Its rival EA’s Rock Band, includes a microphone, drum kit and guitar in its packaging.   Wireless controllers for the Wii, especially the Zapper, which comes bundled with Link’s Crossbow Training, and PS3 have also been massive sellers, along with buzzer controllers for quiz games.

The best accessories to use with Delta game emulator
A table holding a DualSense controller, a DualSense Backbone, a regular Backbone, and an Xbox Series X controller.

Once Apple opened the floodgates and allowed emulators onto the App Store, Delta was one of the first on the scene. This Nintendo emulator allows you to load up your ROMs for all the classic systems, from the NES and Game Boy to the N64 and DS. With so much nostalgia suddenly available right on your phone, it's no wonder that Delta has become one of the most downloaded apps on the store. And while the emulator itself is fantastic, none of these games were intended to be played on your iPhone -- and more specifically, with the touchpad. Even the old Game Boy games can feel cramped and cluttered when you are blocking parts of the screen with your thumbs, but there are plenty of handy accessories to make your iPhone the perfect platform for Delta games.
Backbone Controller

The Backbone controller has been around for a few years and is the perfect combination of convenience and quality. It easily slides onto your iPhone and adds two thumbsticks, a D-pad, four face buttons, and two pairs of triggers. It's more than enough for any game you could emulate with Delta. The best part is that it allows you to view your screen with no obstructions so you can fully enjoy your gaming experience.

Gaming can be a lot of fun, but if you're the sort of person who doesn't want to deal with a big gaming desktop, then going for a gaming laptop makes a lot of sense. Either way, modern gaming laptops have become really great, and even the budget-oriented stuff can play some of the best PC games out there.

To that end, we've gone out and collected some of our favorite gaming laptop deals out there. On the other hand, if you don't want something that yells "gaming laptop," check out some of these other laptop deals that include more traditional-looking laptops with some gaming specs.
