Laughter-loving tech-focused folk and Mike Judge fans are surely looking forward to April 6 when HBO’s new Silicon Valley comedy debuts. The cable network has just rolled out a 90-second trailer (below) for the new show, which follows the trials and tribulations of a bunch of programmers trying to get their own startup off the ground.

The show, which runs for eight episodes, features Richard (Thomas Middleditch), a shy, softly spoken coder living in the Hacker Hostel startup incubator with several other like-minded geeks.

A pitch by Richard to a billionaire investor fails to inspire, but when the true value of his work becomes known, a bidding war begins, leading to all manner of (hopefully) hilarious shenanigans with the introverted programmer stuck in the middle.

Judge – creator of hits such as Beavis and Butt-head, King of the Hill, and the 1999 movie Office Space – is executive producer of Silicon Valley, and has written it, too. He’ll also show off his directing skills, taking charge of the first four episodes.

The new comedy is, according to HBO, partially inspired by Judge’s experiences as an engineer in Silicon Valley in the late 1980s. Let’s hope the cable network’s reputation for quality entertainment manages to combine with Judge’s unique brand of humor to deliver a real treat for comedy fans come April.

Despite being among the best processors you can buy, some high-end Intel CPUs have faced a wave of instability over the past few months. Intel is investigating the problem, but the company and its motherboard partners have already worked toward some temporary fixes to improve stability on high-end Intel CPUs -- even if it comes at a performance cost.

Before getting into the fixes, keep in mind that they are temporary. Intel will release a statement on the instability soon, likely with more direct guidance on what affected users should do.
