If you found yourself at Las Vegas airport one night with 15 hours to spare, you might choose to make a beeline for the slot machines instead of hanging around a deserted departure lounge till sunrise.

Georgia-based Richard Dunn chose the latter, though instead of staring at the walls, he pulled his iPhone out of his pocket and got creative.

Dunn found himself at the airport overnight after accepting vouchers from Delta Air Lines to be bumped off two consecutive flights. With his flight not scheduled to leave till 6am the following day, the lighting designer saw an opportunity to use the empty airport as a giant movie set.

While waiting for the airport to clear out, Dunn jumped online to search for songs about being alone. When Celine Dion’s version of Eric Carmen’s classic All By Myself popped up, his first thought was, “That’s it, that’s pure movie gold.”

Dunn told CBC that he set about making his video at 2am using his iPhone and various items – tape, a ruler, and suitcases among them – to enable a variety of shots.

He explains on Vimeo:

I had a person behind a ticket counter give me a roll of luggage tape before she left. I then used a wheelchair that had a tall pole on the back of it and taped my iPhone to that.

Then I would put it on the moving walkway for a dolly shot. I also used the extended handle on my computer bag and taped the iPhone to my handle. I would tuck different stuff under the bag to get the right angle.

For the escalator shot I had to sprint up the steps after I got my shot so the computer bag didn’t hit the top and fall back down. Quite fun!

Once edited using Final Cut Pro, Dunn posted his masterpiece online where it’s been picking up a decent number of views and a few fun comments, with one guy describing Dunn as “way better than Daniel Craig.” Check it out below.

Nomad’s new iPhone case and Apple Watch band may be its coolest yet
Nomad Glow 2.0 Sport Case and Apple Watch Sport Band in daylight.

Though the world of Apple accessories is a dime a dozen, one of the better brands that you can buy is Nomad. Nomad has a variety of amazing leather Apple Watch bands and cases, as well as non-leather options, too. In August 2023, Nomad released a one-of-a-kind Glow in the Dark Apple Watch band that sold out in about 12 hours.

Since that Glow in the Dark band was a limited edition, no one was sure if Nomad was going to re-release it, and this explains the high resale prices you’ll find on eBay. But Nomad just released the Glow 2.0 Apple Watch Sport Band as well as a new Glow 2.0 Sport Case for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. And, yes, they're just as wonderful as before.
