Those cute, furry chipmunk pals who have entertained us with everything from their on-screen antics to squeaky Christmas carols will be gracing our TV screens once again as Nickelodeon has snagged the rights to the first two seasons of the CG-animated reboot series Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks, for the U.S. market, reports Variety.

Those who are familiar with the 1980s TV series and three movies, written by Janice Karman and her husband Ross Bagdasarian, know that it follows a trio of singing chipmunk friends – Alvin, Simon, and Theodore – who live with their adopted dad, David Seville. Simon is the smart one, Theodore the chubby, goofy one, and Alvin the troublemaker. The latter’s typical antics are what spark the triple “n” spelling, and gratuitous exclamation points included in the title, denoting how Dave is constantly yelling at Alvin for causing mischief. All three, naturally, have high-pitched chipmunk voices, all provided by Bagdasarian, with a little help of speeding up playback.

According to Karman, while the reboot will remain true to the essence of the show, it will follow a new narrative. “…[we] strived to bring something new to the way they react and behave, as well as their look.” Bagdasarian adds that the show is more like an “animated sitcom with real emotions.” That would require some female friends, too. So we’ll see the return of the female trio, the Chipettes, as well, including Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor. Judging from the images released thus far, the characters look slightly older, and a bit more human.

Nickelodeon has already been airing the show on more than 70 of its international channels for the last few months, and reports that it has been performing successfully. So it was a natural progression to bring it to the U.S.

A new movie, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip, is also set to be released in theaters this December.

A WWE Premium Live Event (PLE) is heading to Lyon Metropolis for the first time for WWE Backlash France 2024. Since the formation of TKO in September 2023, WWE has prioritized global expansion. In 2024, Backlash France is the second PLE to be held outside the U.S., and it won't be the last. Five of the next six WWE PLEs will take place outside the U.S.

Heading into Backlash, WWE is entering the "American Nightmare Era." After finishing his story at WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes is now the Undisputed WWE Champion. A different era means a new crop of challengers for Rhodes. First up is AJ Styles, a former two-time WWE champion. Rhodes must bring his A-game if he wants to walk out of France as champion.

If you have to watch one Star Wars movie this May the 4th, stream this one
Luke looking off into the binary sunset before dying in The Last Jedi.

Every Star Wars fan has a favorite movie, and many Star Wars fans also hate at least one of the entries in one of their favorite franchises. That can make the exercise of choosing the perfect Star Wars movie to watch on May the 4th difficult. For all of the love this fan base has shown to the franchise over the years, it's also a fan base that has strong opinions about why one movie or another is worthy of your time.

This May 4, though, I'd recommend watching Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Almost undoubtedly the most controversial entry in the saga, one that makes some people furious and others jump for joy, The Last Jedi is worthy of your attention, whether you like what it's doing or not. Here are three reasons you should check it out:
