Inkas’ armored GMC Savana is the bulletproof passenger van you’ve always wanted

When someone says “armored car,” what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Is it a hulking luxury vehicle with ballistics protection, or perhaps a combat-ready personnel carrier? Probably not a van, right?

Wrong.

Inkas, an armored car manufacturer from Canada, has introduced an augmented version of the GMC Savana passenger van. It may not be as flashy or intimidating as the other members of Inkas’ catalog, but a low-profile security vehicle has its own unique advantages. After all, if the baddies don’t notice you, it’s going to be relatively difficult for them to shoot you.

If they do notice you however, the beefed-up GMC has you covered. The Savana has been equipped with sturdy ballistics and blast protection all around, including 360-degree armor defenses and run-flat tires.

The van is quite luxurious as well, as the Savana also boasts a VIP interior package with pivoting seats that can be adjusted for multiple configurations — handy for accommodating either soccer teams or personal security forces. To keep passengers entertained, there’s a mobile entertainment system onboard complete with LCD displays, lighting effects, and limousine-inspired accoutrements.

If you need to flee for whatever reason, the GMC equips either a 6.0-liter gasoline V8 with 342 horsepower and 373 pound-feet of torque or a 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8 with 260 hp and 525 lb-ft. Either engine hooks up to a six-speed automatic, and the Savana is available in both regular and extended wheelbase versions.

“The safety of you and your family is something that we take very seriously,” says Inkas. “We want you to rest assured that the vehicles that you are riding in are equipped with the latest in safety technology, and that you are completely safe when in transit. Not only should you be safe, but you should also be comfortable. Nothing is better than riding around in style. That’s why our line of armored limos is so popular. Nothing says style, comfort, and flash like a sleek limousine. Out of all of our models, none is more popular than the GMC Savana, and that is for good reason.”

2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N drifting.

We’re finally getting to the fun part of automakers’ methodical quest to replicate their lineups with electric cars.

Performance versions of ordinary cars have been a staple of the auto industry for decades. But while we’ve already seen some variants of EVs boasting more power and more impressive stats — think Tesla Model S Plaid or Lucid Air Sapphire — the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is the first to truly apply that format to an EV.

The Maserati GranCabrio Folgore is one of the best-looking EVs yet
Front of the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore

Maserati is adopting electrified vehicles with open arms, and while that could potentially signal an identity crisis for the luxury Italian brand, that’s probably a good thing in the long run.

The company recently took the wraps off of the new Maserati GranCabrio Folgore, which is essentially a convertible version of its already released GranTurismo Folgore electric car. The new EV is its third go at electrified vehicles so far, and it flew us out to Rimini, Italy, to witness the big reveal in person.
