Adam Sandler takes David Spade under his crazy wing in NSFW trailer for The Do-Over

Reuniting with an old friend can sometimes go badly wrong, but rarely more so than it does in the rambunctious new trailer for The Do-Over. The preview goes well beyond awkward small talk and bad memories and jumps straight into faked deaths, roofies, and identity theft.

The upcoming Netflix comedy co-stars Adam Sandler and David Spade as two former high school buddies who rekindle their friendship at a high school reunion. Charlie (Spade) is bummed about how his life has turned out — he has a failing marriage, a less than inspiring job, and a crappy car — and Max (Sandler) is ready to show him how to live. Little does Charlie know that he’s set to get all the excitement he can handle — and then some.

The preview provides a glimpse at the insanity to come, most notably Max’s disastrous decision to fake their deaths and give Charlie a second shot at life. The adventure quickly spirals out of control as Charlie remembers just how insane his former friend really is. “This is exactly why I had to stop hanging out with you, Max,” he says at one point. “It’s coming back to me. You’re crazy!”

Throughout the trailer, there’s plenty of the usual raunchy and often ridiculous humor we’ve come to expect from a Sandler movie, from Charlie getting karate kicked below the belt by his stepson to awkward eye contact between two threesome participants. The comedy is Sandler’s second of four films for Netflix and looks to match the popularity of his firstThe Ridiculous 6.

The Do-Over also stars Paula Patton, Luis Guzman, Kathryn Hahn, Sean Astin, and Catherine Bell, among others. The film is directed by previous Sandler collaborator Steven Brill and written by Kevin Barnett and Chris Pappas. Sandler serves as producer alongside Allen Covert and Kevin Grady.

The Do-Over premieres May 27 on Netflix.
