Google took the I/O opportunity to show off its latest Spotlight Story, called Pearl. The film was shown off at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, but now anyone can watch it on YouTube.

So what’s so special about this particular video? It’s not just a static video — not only can you move the screen around to look where you want, but you can also interact with the video. Depending on where you look, you’ll see different things, and the environment will change accordingly. It was also directed by Patrick Osbourne, known for the likes of Wreck It RalphBig Hero 6, and Tangled.

Osbourne himself talked about the film at Google I/O, saying that he wanted the audience to be in control more.

“We let the audience sit in the passenger seat, and treat it more like theater than film. I tried to spotlight the action and direct the attention of the audience, but it’s completely okay if they wander, and I made sure the story would read no matter which direction they were looking — even if you’re not looking the ‘right’ way,” said Osbourne.

Sure, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a 360-degree video from Google, but this one certainly has more depth than the others. To check out the video for yourself, all you need to do is open it up on YouTube on Android or in Chrome. If you’re an iOS user, you can even head to the App Store and download the Spotlight Stories app, where you’ll be given full interactivity. Google also uploaded a video showing the making of the film, which you can check out below. And, if you want to see the entire Spotlight selection, head to the Spotlight Stories YouTube channel.

iPhone 14 Pro Max showing No SIM Available error.

Once you’ve activated your iPhone with your carrier, it should continue to work on the cellular network without any problems as long as you’re within range of a tower.

Nevertheless, the vagaries of technology mean that not everything always works the way it should, and sometimes you may encounter problems with your cellular connection. In most cases, these will manifest as not being able to place calls or get online with your data plan — conditions that are usually accompanied by a low signal indicator or a “No Service” message in the status bar.

This cool new Android tablet is hiding a very big secret
The Poco Pad tablet in different colors

If you know the Poco brand, it’s because of its brightly colored, reasonably priced, often gaming-focused smartphones. Now, the company has branched out into the world of Android tablets with the launch of the Poco Pad. The Poco Pad is a big-screen slate that, despite being only 7.5mm thick, hides a very big secret inside: a whopping 10,000mAh battery for those extended periods when you're away from the charger.

A battery capacity like this sets it apart from many other Android tablets. The Google Pixel Tablet’s 7,020mAh battery sounds positively small by comparison, and Poco pad's battery also improves on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9’s 8,400mAh battery — and even the OnePlus Pad's 9.510mAh cell. To get a larger capacity battery in a tablet, you’ll need to look at the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus or the pricey Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.
