While you may have forgotten about Batman: Arkham Knight by now, its developer sure hasn’t. That’s because Rocksteady Studios has been hard at work on refining the PC port of the game, set to relaunch later this month, according to a company forum post on Steam.

This news comes months after Arkham Knight debuted on PC back in June and was subsequently pulled from nearly every major retailer due to game-breaking performance issues.

“We take these issues very seriously and have therefore decided to suspend future game sales of the PC version while we work to address these issues to satisfy our quality standards,” wrote a WB community administrator at the time of Batman: Arkham Knight‘s initial release. “We greatly value our customers and know that while there are a significant amount of players who are enjoying the game on PC, we want to do whatever we can to make the experience better for PC players overall.”

A patch, which fixed a majority of the issues, such as low-resolution textures bugs, technical hiccups when operating on a mechanical hard drive, and various other performance issues across all GPU architectures, was finally released last month.

Of course, even that couldn’t fix everything wrong with the ill-received port. As a result, the company put in another month of development work to make sure the game was good to go for a late-October release.

“While there were significant performance improvements made to the game, the teams are continuing to work on the additional updates that were outlined in our previous post,” writes WB Games. “We expect these updates to be ready at the end of October, at which time the PC version will be made available for purchase.”

Sources who spoke to Kotaku back in July asserted that WB knew the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight was in “such a horrible state” for months before publishing it earlier this year. The PC port was notably done by Iron Galaxy, notorious for the Borderlands 2 on PlayStation Vita, rather than Rocksteady itself.

When it make a comeback to PC at the end of the month, Batman: Arkham Knight will bring with it a host of downloadable content, bringing it directly inline with its console counterparts.

Deathloop is a strong "game of the year" contender thanks to its unique design and gorgeous art style. However, that opinion may only be held by people playing the game on PlayStation 5, where it is a console-exclusive. PC players, on the other hand, are struggling to enjoy the game because it has been butting up against performance problems on some rigs, an issue that developer Arkane is now officially looking into.
