Amazon has discounted the JBL Clip 3 ahead of Black Friday, dropping the price of the carabiner-toting, ultra-durable, water-resistant Bluetooth portable speaker from $70 down to just $30 — a savings of $40 (67%). That’s $10 cheaper than the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom, reduced from $100 to $40, which is neither as robust or mobile as the JBL. So if you’re searching for a speaker to take on a bike ride or a hike, then look no further.
Build with adventure in mind, the JBL Clip 3 is built to weather all storms. There’s an integrated metal carabiner that will keep it affixed to a backpack during even the most intense activities (we’re looking at you, mountain biking) and durable shell that’s more than capable of withstanding the odd knock, bump, or drop. It’s even water-resistant, so the tunes will keep flowing, even if you take a turn too quickly and end up face-down in a lake.
The sound isn’t bad, either — for its size, at least. Sure, it’s not loud enough to cater to a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden, but there’s certainly enough punch to keep the adrenaline flowing during a workout. Plus, the built-in battery will see it through 10 hours of use. That’s long enough to run a marathon twice or fly from Los Angles to London (be warned: using it on an aircraft will probably get you kicked off, but you get the point).
You don’t need to fret about the price slipping further when we welcome Black Friday tomorrow — even if it does feel like it’s been Black Friday all month — either. Amazon told Digital Trends that the offer is valid through the end of Cyber Monday, December 2. You won’t want to wait until then to take advantage of the offer, though: Amazon is no stranger to pulling a deal when it runs out of stock, with it reserving the right to do so at its will.
