Oddworld Inhabitants, developer of the beloved Oddworld series of puzzle platformers, confirms that Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty will cost $30 and includes support for cross-buy (and cross-save) on all PlayStation platforms. The game, which amounts to an HD remake of 1997’s Oddworld: Abe’s Odyssee, is coming to Linux/Mac/Windows and Wii U as well, but one purchase in the PSN Store will nab you copies of the game for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita, with saves carrying across all three Sony platforms.

The developer also confirmed that a release date will be announced soon. New ‘n’ Tasty is expected to arrive sometime in 2014, and Oddworld Inhabitants confirms that the launch timing will be public knowledge before E3 2014 kicks off on June 9.

The studio behind the Oddworld series has struggled to find traction in the decade-plus since the wild success of its first two Oddworld games. With the massive prevalence of 2.5D puzzle platformers in the last few years, though, the developers are no doubt hopeful that they can find new relevance and teach a master class in a genre that they helped define.

Sony is shutting down the PS3 and PS Vita stores after a very long run
PS3 and PS Vita stores will stop selling new digital content by July 2027
PlayStation 3.

Sony is closing the PlayStation Store on PS3 and PS Vita, ending new digital purchases on two of its most beloved older platforms after a remarkably long run.

The PS3 launched in 2006 and 2007, depending on the region, while the PS Vita arrived in Japan in late 2011 before reaching North America and Europe in February 2012. By the time the final closures happen in July 2027, Sony will have supported PS3 store purchases for nearly two decades, and PS Vita purchases for more than 15 years.

Sony kills physical PlayStation games. The era of discs comes to an end for Team Blue
The disc era is ending, and they're calling it a natural transition.
Book, Publication, Adult

Merely a few days ago, Rockstar courted plenty of flak for not releasing a physical copy of GTA VI, despite pricing charging up to $100 for the highly anticipated title. Well, it seems that the final days of game discs are nigh. Sony has just announced that it is shuttering physical releases for PlayStation titles.

Starting in January 2028, new titles released on PlayStation consoles will no longer be available on disc. Everything after that date, which is about a year and a half away, will be digital-only, whether you buy it from the PlayStation Store or at a retailer.

The Amazon listing confirms the $699.99 price, while the display remains temporarily out of stock.

Acer’s 1,000Hz gaming monitor has moved from announcement to Amazon listing. The XV273U F5 is priced at $699.99, giving competitive players a real number to weigh before one of the fastest displays headed to North America actually ships.

Availability is still the problem. Amazon lists the monitor as temporarily out of stock, and Acer has previously pointed to a Q4 North America launch window instead of a firm release date.
