XM Installs in 2006 Hondas to Grow

Auto maker Honda announced today they were upping the number of vehicles in their 2006 line which will have XM Satellite Radio that will come factory installed with a compatible radio. This marks a continued interest and growth across mainstream America of the satellite radio market.

The total number of 2006 America Hondas and Acuras, XM said, will be over 550,000. This record number of vehicles under these two brands will include for the first time the Honda Civic and Pilot SUV. Other Hondas which come XM factory installed will include the Accord, Odyssey, Element and Ridgeline, while Acura models will include the RL, TL, TSX and MDX.

“The rapid expansion of XM Satellite Radio across the Honda and Acura lineups demonstrates the broad appeal of XM’s award-winning content offering,” said Paul Kirsch, vice president, OEM, for XM Satellite Radio. “XM is a perfect complement to the exceptional driving experience for Honda Civic and Honda Pilot owners.”
