Google search on mobile now shows you recipe options when you're looking for food

Looking for something yummy to cook for dinner? Google wants to help — in fact, Google’s mobile search results will now show you recipe suggestions when you’re searching for food.

Google has made good use of its “knowledge graph” in the past few years, helping users find better results for their searches straight from search itself. In this case, you’ll see a carousel of cards at the top of the display with recipe suggestions, and when you click on those cards, you’ll be taken to the recipe itself.

Google is even giving you a few extra filters for those recipe results — under the search bar, you’ll get more suggestions that you can use to refine your search. For example, when we searched for “chicken soup,” there were links to “noodle soup” “chicken noodle,” and so on. You’ll also get a “view all” link, which will take you to a more detailed view of the recipes Google is suggesting.

All in all, Google is getting pretty serious about helping people find the food they want. Add the recipes to the huge list of local restaurants Google already serves up to users, and you’ll get a huge selection of food choices.

Unfortunately, the recipes are currently only available on mobile, at least in our experience. It’s likely you’ll eventually be able to access recipes from desktop computers, but Google’s focus is squarely on mobile, so mobile platforms get features like this first.

A new set of features is set to debut as part of the June Google Pixel Feature Drop. These include fresh productivity tools and enhancements. Of the latest tools, four will undoubtedly be the most popular.

If you have a Pixel 8 or Pixel 8a, you will soon be able to use Gemini Nano on your phone. Gemini Nano, Google's most efficient AI model for on-device tasks, was previously only available on the Pixel 8 Pro. To access Gemini Nano, you must enable developer options on the phone. Gemini Nano is a bit limited today, but it sets the foundation for powerful on-device AI features down the road.

Have one of these Google Pixel phones? You’re getting Circle to Search

Circle to Search — Google's excellent search tool that debuted on the Samsung Galaxy S24 earlier this year — is about to become available to more people. Specifically, it's coming to a bunch more Pixel devices, giving even more people a chance to use it for themselves.

As the name implies, Circle to Search allows you to circle or scribble anything on your screen to perform a Google Search for it. It's great for those times you see something on your phone and want to know more about it, but aren't sure how to type out a Google Search for it. It launched on the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra in January and then quickly made its way to the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

Android 15 has two hidden features you’re going to love
The Android 15 logo on a smartphone.

Android 15 is this year's big Android update, and based on what we've seen so far, it's going to be pretty tame. Just like Android 14, Android 15 isn't trying to overhaul or reimagine Android. Instead, it's all about fine-tuning things.

However, that doesn't mean there's nothing cool going on. I've been playing with the Android 15 developer preview for a little while now, and in doing so, I've stumbled across two underrated features that I think a lot of people are going to love.
