You can now get the Google Pixel silicone case in more colors than gray

The Google Pixel and Pixel XL are expensive phones, and you probably want to keep your shiny new one protected if you already have your hands on one. Google’s self-made silicone case is a great option for doing that — however there’s a problem. So far, the case has only been available in grey.

Today, however, that changes — now the case is available in grey, blue, green, peach, and coral, so you can keep your beautiful phone in a case that really helps it pop.

The cases are actually very nice. They’re lined with a microfiber that helps keep the phone protected from the outside world while ensuring that it doesn’t get any scratches or dents. Not only that, but they actually have a pretty premium feel — and, as the cases were designed by Google, they look like an extension of the phone itself. Last but not least, if you’re a Google fan you’ll like the Google branding on the case.

Of course, that Google branding doesn’t come cheap — if you’re on a budget you may be better served buying a Spigen case or one from another accessories maker, but sometimes that Google branding can be a nice touch to your Google-branded phone.

The Google Pixel and Pixel XL silicone cases are now available from the Google Store, and they cost $35 each. Head here to get the Google Pixel case, and here if you want the Google Pixel XL case.

If you’re shopping for a case and want something a little more flashy, Google also sells its “Live Case” for the Pixel and Pixel XL. What makes the Live Case special? You can customize it with a design of your choosing, making your Live Case different from every other phone case out there.

Google One subscribers could get a hugely important eSIM feature
The Google Pixel 9a's screen.

In the modern world of eSIMs, you don't have to worry about keeping track of a postage-stamp-sized piece of tech to use your phone, but there is one glaring downside: if you break your phone, transferring the eSIM from the broken device to your new one leaves you at the whims of your carrier. A new update to Google Play Services suggests an alternative might be on the way in the form of eSIM backup as part of the Google One subscription.

Android Authority dug into Google Play Services v25.16.33, the latest beta version, and found references that suggested a SIM data backup. You can pretty safely rule out physical SIM cards here, since those aren't affected by data wipes. That leaves only eSIMs, and it would certainly make it easier to transition from one phone to another.
