Up until now, families looking for plans on the cheap could turn to one of Walmart Family Mobile’s plans, which throw in unlimited talk and text alongside 500 MB of 4G LTE data on T-Mobile’s network. Today, T-Mobile made that plan even better by throwing in more data.

Going into effect tomorrow, April 18, Walmart’s $30 family plan will include 1 GB of 4G LTE, a twofold increase from the previous 500 MB the plan had. The $40 plan, meanwhile, will have 3 GB of 4G LTE data, up from the 2.5 GB of data it had before. If you exceed the data allotment, speeds go down to 2G, so you’d be wise to pay close attention to how much data your family consumes on a monthly basis.

As with previous family plans, these new Family Mobile plans give you a $5 discount for every additional line you add.

These as postpaid plans, and while you can purchase a phone directly from Walmart, you also have the option of bringing your own phone. As previously alluded to, Walmart Family Mobile uses T-Mobile’s network, so your mileage may vary depending on where in the U.S. you’re located. That said, if you have a family that might not need a ton of data, Walmart’s Family Mobile plans seem to be good options.
