New shows in the top 10 include the supernatural drama Evil, the Irish dark comedy Bodkin, and the American sitcom Reba. 10. The Asunta Case (2024)
One of the most harrowing true crime cases in Spanish history comes to life in The Asunta Case. On September 21, 2013, Rosario Porto (Candela Peña) and Alfonso Basterra (Tristán Ulloa) filed a missing person report for their 13-year-old adopted daughter, Asunta Fong Yang (Iris Whu).
However, Asunta was found dead outside Santiago, Spain, hours after going missing. The autopsy found that Asunta died from asphyxiation and had nearly 30 Lorazepam pills in her system. During the investigation, the authorities question the parents, as their alibi does not check out. Could Asunta’s parents have played a part in her death?
9. Reba season 1 (2001)
Country music star Reba McEntire headlines the 2000s sitcom Reba. McEntire plays Reba Hart, a Texas housewife whose life turns upside down after her husband, Brock (Christopher Rich), divorces her to be with his dental hygienist, Barbra Jean (Melissa Peterman). If a divorce wasn’t enough drama, Reba’s 17-year-old daughter, Cheyenne (JoAnna Garcia), is pregnant and carrying the child of her high school boyfriend, Van Montgomery (Steve Howey).
Without Brock, Reba must be the head of the household and care for Cheyenne, her preteen daughter, Kira (Scarlett Pomers), and her young son, Jake (Mitch Holleman). Thankfully, Reba is the single mom who works too hard, making her the perfect candidate to run this dysfunctional family.
8. Kevin Hart: The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor (2024)
One of the highest honors in comedy is the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor presented by the Kennedy Center. Adam Sandler, Jon Stewart, Dave Chappelle, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and David Letterman are some of the 25 recipients of this prestigious award. In 2024, the award was presented to actor and stand-up comedian, Kevin Hart.

7. Evil season 1 (2019)
One of the more underrated shows of the last five years is Evil, CBS Studios’ supernatural drama that later moved to Paramount+. Unable to explain a litany of supernatural events, including demonic possessions and incomprehensible miracles, the Catholic Church begins an investigation into these strange occurrences and hires Dr. Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers), a forensic psychologist who is an atheist and doesn’t believe in the supernatural; David Acosta (Mike Colter), a journalist turned Catholic priest who has divine visions; and Ben Shakir (Aasif Mandvi), a technology expert who believes science can explain everything.
Now is the time to catch up on Evil season 1 before season 4 premieres on May 23, 2024, followed by a four-episode fifth season that will serve as the series finale.
6. Bodkin season 1 (2024)
In the thrilling dark comedy series Bodkin, podcasters attempt to solve a cold case. Gilbert Power (Will Forte) is an American podcaster who travels to the Irish town of Bodkin to investigate an unsolved case about three people who vanished during the town’s fall festival, Samhain.
Joining Will in Bodkin are Emmy Sizergh (Robyn Cara), Gilbert’s podcasting assistant, and Dove Maloney (Siobhán Cullen), an Irish investigative journalist. As the trio conducts their investigation, they quickly learn the town holds secrets its residents want to keep hidden. In Bodkin, the disappearances are only the tip of the iceberg of what’s to come.
5. Selling The OC season 3 (2022)
The Oppenheim Group is back in Selling the OC season 3. In this reality series, audiences are invited into the world of high-end real estate in Orange County, California. Led by Jason and Brett Oppenheim, the agents at the Oppenheim Group must navigate rival firms, office fights, and hookup drama.
The agents featured in season 3 include Polly Brindle, Kayla Cardona, Alex Hall, Ali Harper, Gio Helou, Alexandra Jarvis, Brandi Marshall, Sean Palmieri, Alexandra Rose, Tyler Stanaland, and Austin Victoria.
4. A Man in Full (2024)
David E. Kelly, the creator behind Big Little Lies and The Lincoln Lawyer, is back on Netflix with his latest drama series, A Man in Full. Based on the bestselling novel by Tom Wolfe, A Man in Full stars Jeff Daniels as Atlanta real estate mogul Charlie Croker, whose empire begins to crumble when he faces bankruptcy. As he fights to keep his business, many of his rivals attempt to exploit his downfall.
Other notable characters include Martha Croker (Diane Lane), Tom’s wife, who wishes to keep her social status; Raymond Peepgrass (Tom Pelphrey), a businessman looking to strike against Charlie; and Roger White, a distinguished Black lawyer.
3. Baby Reindeer (2024)
Richard Gadd adapted his award-winning play Baby Reindeer into a seven-episode Netflix series. The dramedy stars Gadd as Donny, a comedian who works as a bartender to pay the bills. During one of his shifts, Donny meets Martha (Jessica Gunning). At that moment, the vulnerable Martha needs a friend, so Donny shows her kindness. This simple act ignites a strange relationship between the two as Martha begins to stalk Donny incessantly.
The obsession disrupts the lives of both Donny and Martha. It forces Donny to explore a previous tragedy he buried within himself. The genius of Baby Reindeer is it never paints Donny as the victim and Martha as the villain. The show provides empathy and compassion for both characters, with plenty of laughs along the way.
2. Katt Williams: Woke Foke (2024)
Katt Williams is one of the greatest comedians of his generation. On May 4, Williams took the stage for a live comedy special, Katt Williams: Woke Foke, that’s now available to stream on demand. Wearing a “Woke Foke” necklace, Williams hit the stage at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California, for another memorable set.
Like it says in the title, Williams tackled the idea of being “woke” and explained why it’s not so bad. Williams loves to call out people, and the comedian delivers on that promise, taking shots at Nick Cannon, former President Donald Trump, President Joe Biden, Oprah, and even The Illuminati.
1. The Roast of Tom Brady (2024)
Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback ever, aka “The G.O.A.T.” Over his 23-year career, Brady was one of the fiercest competitors in the league, refusing to back down from a challenge. For the first time in Brady’s life, he can’t fight back in the Roast of Tom Brady. Originally airing inside the Kia Forum on May 5, The Roast of Tom Brady featured a wide range of comedians insulting the seven-time Super Bowl winner.
The list of comedians at the roast included Kevin Hart, Jeff Ross, Nikki Glazer, Tom Segura, Tony Hinchcliffe, and more. Plus, several of Brady’s teammates and coaches were in attendance to make fun of their quarterback, including Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, Bill Belichick, and Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
