Chris Pratt calls for fan-created Facebook cover photos, hilarity ensues

Chris Pratt doesn’t just have a special bond with Velociraptors, he’s also a fan whisperer. When the Jurassic World star reached out to the public via a Facebook post and announced he was holding a contest to design his new cover photo, hilarious/bizarre/amazing submissions started flowing in. Pratt, by his own admission, isn’t good with Photoshop, but when you’re the beloved star of one of the biggest box office hits of all time, you apparently don’t have to be.

With his announcement, Pratt threw out some ideas for things that might sway him, including (but not limited to) his family, previous roles, explosions, raptors, eagles, corn dogs, American flags, etc. Basically, he just wants “anything that looks bad ass” and shows what he’s all about. It’s a tall order, but fans have delivered, proving once again that the Internet is a crazy and often wonderful place.

Keeping things exciting, Pratt also offered the winner accolades and possibly a free dinner at Applebee’s “or something like that,” he added, because the “sky’s the limit.” That, of course, is on top of being able to go to his Facebook page and admire your handiwork. Obviously, the idea was enticing; at the time of publishing, Pratt’s post had been liked nearly 57,000 times and there were almost 5,000 replies.

And since he’s the comedic mind that brought us Andy Dwire, it’s worth reading Pratt’s full post:

“Hello friends and fans. I am in the market for a new header for my FB page. I want to do a contest. Whoever replies with the best header (make sure your signature is big enough to be seen) will have the honor of it being my official header.

I don’t know photo shop. But you do and this could be a great way for me to notice you and give you accolades plus maybe a free dinner at applebees or something like that who knows sky’s the limit.

so. i need a header. which looks like it would be 1 tall x 3.5 wide.

I’m looking to have Peter Quill, Owen, Andy and Emmet in the mix. possibly some other fun stuff including but not limited to previous roles, my family, eagles, american flags, guns, cool ford raptors, cigars, explosions, anything sly stallone, bloodsport, early steven segal, anything that looks bad ass and will say, “Hey this facebookprofile is chris’s and this is what he’s all about.” maybe some raptors, or even some largemouth bass or deer or trophy elk, maybe some cool guns or rollerblades or possibly even a nascar or a steak maybe even some corndogs. don’t ask me! you decide!

so yeah. who’s gonna get me the best one and have their name displayed for millions of people to see?”

As fans have been doing their best to impress him, the contest master has been nice enough to reward them with plenty of positive feedback. He’s been throwing out likes galore as contestants continue to vie for the coveted honor. Whoever wins this will deserve some serious bragging rights. We’ve picked our favorite entries so far, and posted them above.

Pratt didn’t mention just how long this competition will go on, so those who want to participate should submit their entries ASAP.
