Chris Pratt calls for fan-created Facebook cover photos, hilarity ensues

Chris Pratt doesn’t just have a special bond with Velociraptors, he’s also a fan whisperer. When the Jurassic World star reached out to the public via a Facebook post and announced he was holding a contest to design his new cover photo, hilarious/bizarre/amazing submissions started flowing in. Pratt, by his own admission, isn’t good with Photoshop, but when you’re the beloved star of one of the biggest box office hits of all time, you apparently don’t have to be.

With his announcement, Pratt threw out some ideas for things that might sway him, including (but not limited to) his family, previous roles, explosions, raptors, eagles, corn dogs, American flags, etc. Basically, he just wants “anything that looks bad ass” and shows what he’s all about. It’s a tall order, but fans have delivered, proving once again that the Internet is a crazy and often wonderful place.

Keeping things exciting, Pratt also offered the winner accolades and possibly a free dinner at Applebee’s “or something like that,” he added, because the “sky’s the limit.” That, of course, is on top of being able to go to his Facebook page and admire your handiwork. Obviously, the idea was enticing; at the time of publishing, Pratt’s post had been liked nearly 57,000 times and there were almost 5,000 replies.

And since he’s the comedic mind that brought us Andy Dwire, it’s worth reading Pratt’s full post:

“Hello friends and fans. I am in the market for a new header for my FB page. I want to do a contest. Whoever replies with the best header (make sure your signature is big enough to be seen) will have the honor of it being my official header.

I don’t know photo shop. But you do and this could be a great way for me to notice you and give you accolades plus maybe a free dinner at applebees or something like that who knows sky’s the limit.

so. i need a header. which looks like it would be 1 tall x 3.5 wide.

I’m looking to have Peter Quill, Owen, Andy and Emmet in the mix. possibly some other fun stuff including but not limited to previous roles, my family, eagles, american flags, guns, cool ford raptors, cigars, explosions, anything sly stallone, bloodsport, early steven segal, anything that looks bad ass and will say, “Hey this facebookprofile is chris’s and this is what he’s all about.” maybe some raptors, or even some largemouth bass or deer or trophy elk, maybe some cool guns or rollerblades or possibly even a nascar or a steak maybe even some corndogs. don’t ask me! you decide!

so yeah. who’s gonna get me the best one and have their name displayed for millions of people to see?”

As fans have been doing their best to impress him, the contest master has been nice enough to reward them with plenty of positive feedback. He’s been throwing out likes galore as contestants continue to vie for the coveted honor. Whoever wins this will deserve some serious bragging rights. We’ve picked our favorite entries so far, and posted them above.

Pratt didn’t mention just how long this competition will go on, so those who want to participate should submit their entries ASAP.

‘Anora’ is looking like a Best Picture frontrunner following DGA and PGA wins
Mark Eydelshteyn and Mikey Madison dance against a blur of Las Vegas lights in a shot from the movie Anora.

The Oscar race got a little less cloudy in Feb. 8 following awards from the Producer's Guild and Director's Guild. Anora took home both, cementing its status as this year's Best Picture frontrunner.
“My imposter syndrome is skyrocketing right now, as well as my cortisol levels,” director Sean Baker said as he accepted the DGA prize for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Theatrical Feature Film “It’s such an honor to be recognized by my peers.”
After thanking his team and the folks at Neon who produced the film, he acknowledged that they were able to film the film on location in New York City for just $6 million. He also called out the film's cast, especially star Mikey Madison, who he said changed the way he'll be working with actors moving forward.

ANORA - Official Trailer #2 - In Select Theaters October
“Working with [Madison] has changed the way I will be directing actors in the future, because of what she gave,” Baker said. “Hearing her incredible ideas … a year before production, what she wanted to bring to the production and what she did bring to it. [She has] an incredible career ahead.”
Anora's wins cement its frontrunner status. 25 of the past 34 PGA Theatrical Motion Picture winners have gone on to repeat in Best Picture, and 19 of the past 22 DGA winners have repeated in Best Director at the Oscars. While there are certainly years that buck this trend, it's an auspicious sign for a movie that emerged as a potential frontrunner all the way back at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

Avatar: Fire and Ash designer teases a “battle for the ages” in next sequel
The final battle from Avatar: The Way of Water.

In 2022, writer and director James Cameron revisited the world of Pandora in Avatar: The Way of Water. That film ended with an incredible battle between the Na'vi and the invading humans at sea. The humans in the Resources Development Administration brought a massive SeaDragon ship to Pandora, only to see it destroyed by the Na'vi and a whale-like creature called a Tulkun. Later this year, the RDA is going to strike back in Avatar: Fire and Ash, according to production designer Ben Procter.

"We're going to see an airborne and water-borne battle for the ages, as the Pandoran forces and RDA clash in a really interesting environment," Procter told Empire Magazine. He went on to say that this battle will make The Way of Water's final fight look like "nothing but a skirmish."

Back in Action (2025)

For Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz, Back in Action is the perfect title for their respective returns. Foxx suffered a life-threatening stroke in 2023, while Diaz hasn't acted in a decade.
