Catch a whiff of a galaxy far, far away with these Star Wars scents

Has anyone ever told you that you smell like a scruffy-looking nerf herder? If so, SlashFilm is reporting that a solution may be on the way.

German fragrance company Lifestyle Perfumes has created three Star Wars-inspired scents that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt if something exists, there’s a Star Wars version of it. The scents are Jedi, Empire and Amidala, all of which will transport you to a galaxy far, far away with just a single spritz.

OK, so they won’t actually do that. Like other colognes and perfumes, however, they will — you know — make you smell nice. Here are the official breakdowns of all three scents, which read like they’ve been translated into English by Master Yoda himself:

Jedi: The woody-aromatic scent Star Wars Jedi exudes positive energy. The start of this refreshing yet distinctively masculine scent experience make tangy notes of mandarin, paired with spicy aromas of pink and black pepper. These are supplemented in the heart with gentle nuances of sandalwood. Rounding out the ensemble with aromatic essences of amber, patchouli, and musk.

Empire: The strong character and modern smell Star Wars Empire owes its distinctive recognition value of the combination of sparkling and seductive notes with aromatic, astringent chords. At the beginning of oriental-woody fragrance experience is a blast of fresh notes of lime and bergamot which are enhanced by chords from apple and jasmine in the heart. The composition is completed by a base of amber, sandalwood, patchouli and tonka bean.

Amidala: The fruity-oriental fragrance Star Wars Amidala envelops its wearer with an elegant and sensual aura and royal grace. The creation opens with refreshing notes of mandarin and green apple. In the heart seduces with an elegant bouquet of orange blossom, patchouli and sandalwood. Sensual Vanillie and musks ensure a round underscore this composition.

As others have pointed out, all three bottles look like lightsaber hilts and the only thing that would make this product more amazing would be if each spray was accompanied by a classic saber sound effect. Thanks to Lifestyle Perfumes, we can now watch every Star Wars film with the knowledge that Luke smells like mandarin and sandalwood, Vader like lime and bergamot, and Amidala like orange blossom and patchouli.

For the time being, it seems like the scents are only available in Germany, but thanks to the internet, you can purchase them here. The 60ml bottles retail for around $22, while the 40ml bottles will set you back just under $17.

As for the film franchise that spawned the scents, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to hit theaters December 16, while Star Wars: Episode VIII will arrive December 15, 2017.

May the force be with you.

James Mangold’s Dawn of the Jedi movie can save Star Wars
Cover art for the Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi comic book series by John Ostrander and Jan Duursema.

This year's Star Wars Celebration brought exciting new looks into upcoming projects ranging from TV to movies, as well as the announcement that James Mangold (Logan, Ford v Ferrari) will helm an origin story of sorts set during the Dawn of the Jedi. And while this film will be looking back to the past, being set a whopping 25,000 years before the Battle of Yavin depicted in Star Wars: Episode IV -- New Hope, it is already poised to be one of the boldest theatrical premises for the franchise.

Star Wars has always been a universe characterized by great potential that's gone surprisingly untapped, with virtually endless storytelling possibilities in the distant past and far future. To address the elephant in the room, Lucasfilm also has a shoddy track record of late in axing or shelving announced and reported projects more than actually developing others, but Mangold's deft direction could break tired conventions and pave the way for the exciting Old Republic era on the big and small screens.
