April marks the six month anniversary of the next-gen consoles. The release slate is still fairly balanced though, with titles coming for all platforms from PC to 3DS to current gen to next. There isn’t anything quite as attention grabbing as Titanfall in March, but April is shaping up to be a great month for the gaming industry.

This month also brings with it a lot of variety. From MMORPGs to sports titles to movie tie-ins, April has a little something for everyone.

Former PlayStation 5 exclusive Ghostwire: Tokyo will launch for Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC on April 12. A free update called The Spider's Thread will release on the same day for all platforms, including Xbox Series X/S,  PC and PlayStation 5. The game is being added to Xbox Game Pass.

Ghostwire: Tokyo was first released on PS5 and PC on March 25, 2022. Despite Microsoft owning Bethesda at the time, preexisting agreements were honored and the game remained a timed console exclusive on PS5. The same situation occurred with Bethesda's Deathloop, which initially launched on PS5 and PC in September 2021 and then came to Xbox Series X/S a year later.

The protagonists of GTA V pose for the camera.

Few video game series are as legendary as Grand Theft Auto, which made a name for itself thanks to developer Rockstar Games. GTA has been around since 1997, spanning numerous console generations, and taking place during versions of the 1960s to the 2020s. It's a controversial series that has been featured in the news for its violence and adult themes, but this has led to even more sales, increasing its allure and popularity.

Beyond its controversies, the Grand Theft Auto series is comprised of fantastic games -- some of which have completely revolutionized the medium as a whole. Many modern hits owe a lot to the Grand Theft Auto series, proving just how important these games are, even decades later.

The Elder Scrolls Online’s 2023 updates bring players back to Morrowind
the elder scrolls online shadow over morrowind 2023 updates

Following Xbox and Bethesda's Developer_Direct and a dedicated livestream for The Elder Scrolls Online, we learned that the MMO's 2023 updates are all set in Morrowind. Falling under 2023's Shadow Over Morrowind banner, the first two pieces of DLC in March and June will see the addition of new PvE dungeons and the first new playable class since 2019.
While Morrowind is most famous for being the titular location of the third Elder Scrolls game and 2017's The Elder Scrolls Online expansion, ZeniMax Online Studios teased that some of the areas featured in this expansion haven't been seen since the first game in the series. The player's first taste of this new Shadow Over Morrowind content will come with the Scribes of Fate DLC in March. Scribes of Fate adds two four-player PvE dungeons to the MMO. One sees players fight the Scribes of More in Scrivener's Hall, while the other will have them take on Bal Sunnar.
Scribes of Fate launches on March 13 for PC and Mac players and on March 28 for those on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

The more significant update will be The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom chapter, releasing on June 5 for PC and Mac and June 20 for consoles. The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom will add 30 hours of new story content set in eastern Morrowind, two new companions, and a new Arcanist class. Arcanists utilized a variety of offensive and support magic, most of which is based on the powers of a Daedric Prince in Oblivion. For fans of Morrowind and this MMO, it's clear there will be quite a lot to sink your teeth into this year.
The Elder Scrolls Online is available now across PC, Mac, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
