Justin Timberlake music, crazy hair on display in first official ‘Trolls’ trailer

Trolls have gone far beyond simply being the dolls many of us played with as kids. DreamWorks Animation and 20th Century Fox have released the first official trailer for the upcoming film Trolls, and the world of the bright-haired toys has never been so colorful.

The Trolls trailer kicks off by introducing us to the main characters. First up is Branch (Justin Timberlake), a Troll living in a “heavily fortified survival bunker.” What is he trying to keep out? Poppy (Anna Kendrick), our other protagonist. Unlike Branch, she is “insanely happy,” and that is just more than he can handle apparently.

The two seem unlikely to cross paths, but all that changes when a fearsome creature called a Bergin captures the rest of the Trolls. Poppy goes to Branch and convinces him to join her in rescuing the others, forcing them to deal with one another as they set off on an adventure. Based on the trailer, teamwork doesn’t come naturally to them; Branch has nothing good to say about Poppy’s scrapbooking-centric efforts to save their fellow Trolls, and Poppy is less than pleased when he tries to attack friendly strangers.

Throughout the trailer, we get to see the awesome visual world DreamWorks Animation has created. It is vivid, cheerful, and features creative creatures, including one who poops out cupcakes and Cloud Guy, who rains when he is distressed. The music is fun, too, with Timberlake providing new songs, along with other members of the talented cast. Gwen Stefani, Zooey Deschanel, James Corden, Russell Brand, and more all voice characters.

Trolls is directed by Mike Mitchell and Walt Dohrn (Shrek Forever After), teaming up once again with producer Gina Shay. The film is scheduled to open in theaters on November 4 and should brighten up the start of fall.

Jeremy Renner in Mayor of Kingston season 3.

On January 1, 2023, Jeremy Renner was badly wounded when his snowplow crushed him. Renner's injuries, including almost 40 broken bones, were so severe that it was miraculous he survived, much less recovered. But now, 16 months later, Renner's comeback begins in the first trailer for the third season of his Paramount+ original series, Mayor of Kingstown.

It's unclear if the show plans to explain any physical limitations that Renner's character, Mike McLusky, may have after Renner's real-life accident. Yet there are a few scenes in the trailer where Mike appears to be getting into some fights. But the real battles ahead are the ones that not even Mike can win with his fists.
