Here is our first look at ‘Total War: Warhammer II’ in-engine footage

Total War: WARHAMMER 2 – Lizardmen In-Engine Trailer
Following a CGI trailer reveal at the end of March, Creative Assembly released the first in-engine footage of Total War: Warhammer II, featuring everyone’s favorite Lustrian forces, the Lizardmen. This trailer gives us our best look at the scaly creatures yet, as well as a much better look at what the new real-time strategy game will look like in action.

Total War: Warhammer proved to be one of the more successful entries in the Total War range, despite straying from its usual historical roots. Following a few DLC releases for the original, Creative Assembly swiftly announced a sequel, in what will be a trilogy of games spanning the epic Old World of Warhammer.

Because it is aimed at a new campaign release with four new armies rather than an entirely new game, we don’t expect much in the way of graphical improvements with Total War: Warhammer II. While the in-engine footage seen in the above trailer is certainly pretty, it doesn’t stray far from what we expect from a contemporary Total War game.

That said, this footage goes to show that the scale and spectacle of massed battles within the Warhammer universe have not diminished at all. There are a plethora of new units to enjoy, with their own unique visual stylings, synchronized kills with some of the larger monsters and heroes, and vast new maps with ancient architecture to battle across.

This trailer also gives us more of an insight into the campaign, highlighting how the different races and their armies will come to blows as they all attempt to interfere with the cosmic gates in their unique fashion.

The game will see players take control of one of four races — High Elves, Dark Elves, and Lizardmen have been announced so far — battling across new continents and landscapes that add new thematic and strategic elements to the game. It should give it all a distinctly different look and feel, though the same sort of Total War mechanics championed so in the original Warhammer title will no doubt remain.

Total War: Warhammer II is slated for release sometime later in 2017 and will be playable at this year’s E3 show.

How to upload a custom coat of arms in Manor Lords
Two armies clash in Manor Lords.

If you really want to feel like the lord of your own kingdom in Manor Lords, you will want to make the experience as personalized as possible. Naming your budding village is a great start, but your coat of arms is a visual representation of your kingdom that appears far more prominently. When you are starting a new game, you will have a decent selection of symbols, designs, and colors to make something cool from, but there's far from endless freedom. You do have the ability to create any coat of arms you want, though it does take some extra work outside of the game itself. Here's how it works.

The best Fallout New Vegas mods
A soldier with a sniper in New Vegas.

The debate around which Fallout game is best typically comes down to either Fallout 3 or New Vegas. Whichever side you land on, there's no denying that New Vegas made the most out of what it had to work with. This game was originally made by Obsidian, not Bethesda, and it had a very short development time that resulted in a game in which the technical performance couldn't quite match its narrative and mechanical ambitions. While the core was still great, it has also been over a decade since the game came out, which makes those blemishes even more evident. Because fans took so well to what this entry was trying to do, mods have kept New Vegas alive and well to this day. From basic visual enhancements to new quests and locations, here are the best mods you can get for New Vegas.
NMCS Texture Pack

Honestly, New Vegas was never a looker. Even upon release, it was a bit behind the times in terms of graphical fidelity, and two generations later, it isn't aging all that well. The NMCS Texture Pack doesn't bring every aspect of the world up to a modern standard, but what it does upgrade is incredibly impressive. This mod completely retextures roads, environments, plants, vehicles, buildings, and more. What it won't change is how the sky, water, clothing, NPCs, weapons, and a handful of other things appear. It also does not work with any DLC. Still, the majority of things you will be seeing get a great visual buff here to help breathe new life into the wasteland.
