Hands-free products brand Jabra was out in full force at the Las Vegas CES 2006 show in early January with an array of new headsets and mobile phone accessories. These new devices include a Bluetooth stereo headset and USB adapter as well as a Bluetooth headset with an array of interchangeable design covers.
The Jabra BT620s Bluetooth stereo headset and its partner in crime, the A320s Bluetooth stereo USB adapter, are geared towards users who want just one headset for both their music and cellular needs. The BT620s comes in a street style wearing neckband and gets stereo music directly from any Bluetooth enabled music phone, MP3 player or PC (devices not enabled with Bluetooth but which sport a USB port can be accessed via the A320s adapter, which can also be used to do things like sync calendar and contact data between a Bluetooth enabled PDA and a computer). It sports two hi-fi speakers and listening to music is managed through controls on the headset itself. When a call comes in, the BT620s switches to phone mode and allows the user to talk over a microphone which offers active digital noise canceling to help reduce background noise.
The BT620s is priced at $129 and the A320s is priced at $34. Both will be available sometime in the first quarter of this year.
Those looking for some style control over their Bluetooth headset meanwhile might be interested in Jabra’s new BT160. This headset has a transparent removable cover which can be replaced with one of 33 different design covers to create a new look. Additionally, users can go onto Jabra’s website and develop their own designs. Features on this headset include up to six hours of talk time, a weight of one-half ounce and support for Bluetooth 1.2. It should be available for $59 sometime in the early part of this year.
