This incredible disappearing pool cover doubles as a deck

insane disappearing pool cover doubles deck agor

One second it’s a snazzy, modern-looking wooden deck, and the next second its underwater — the floor of the most flossy pool of all time.

What you’re looking at is the moveable floor system from Agor, a company that specializes in designing, manufacturing, and installing custom mechanical swimming pool floors. That’s a weird thing to specialize in for sure, but you can’t deny how amazing these systems look.

Based on what we can gather from the company’s website, these covers employ a water-based hydraulic system to move themselves up or down. When fully raised, the floor functions like a normal wooden deck, and is capable of supporting hundreds of kilograms per square meter. In other words, they’re perfectly safe to walk, run, or have a raging dance party on with all your friends. And since the water below is completely inaccessible when the system is deployed, it’s far safer than a normal pool cover.

At the press of a button, the deck will slowly begin to lower itself — but here’s the kicker: you can stop it whenever you want. It doesn’t have to go all the way down. That way, if you only want the pool to be a few feet deep for the kids to play in, all you’ve got to do is stop the deck when it’s partially lowered.

Since Agor does custom installations, prices vary from pool to pool, but it’s probably a safe bet that one of these systems will cost you an arm and a leg. For more info or to request a quote, go here.
