Epson just announced that a bunch of its printers are certified to work with the Mopria Print Service.

This means that, with the use of the Mopria Print Service app for Android, you should be able to print stuff without any issues from your Android device when using apps like Chrome, Gmail, Google Drive, QuickOffice, Adobe Reader, and Kingsoft WPS Office. Your Android device also needs to be running version 4.4 (KitKat) or later in order for this to work without any hitches. You’ll also need to make sure that any your printer has the latest firmware.

Epson is attempting to take advantage of the growing popularity of Android mobile devices by making the mobile printing experience easier for owners of its Mopria-certified printers.

“With 9 out of 10 U.S. smartphone users 16 years or older and two of five employees using smartphones on the job, the need for intuitive mobile printing options and support is apparent,” Patrick Chen, Epson’s product manager of mobile connectivity, says. “Epson is proud to actively support an industry-wide movement to streamline mobile printing ease-of-use and accessibility.”

The company says that its first Mopria-certified printers include the Epson Express Photo XP-860, Epson Express Premium XP-820, XP-620, and XP-520, along with the Epson WorkForce WF-2660, WF-2650, and the WF-2630. All of these printers are on the market already. We found product pages for each unit on Amazon, just to be sure.

You can download the Mopria Print Service app from the Google Play Store here.
