This 50-inch TCL 4K TV deal is the best news surrounding CES 2020 so far

CES 2020 is now in full swing and that can only mean one thing: Retailers are slashing prices to clear warehouse space for the influx of new 4K TVs and 8K TVs announced in Las Vegas, Nevada this week — making this the perfect chance for those of us who don’t need the latest hardware on the shelves to put a shiny new television at the center of our beloved home entertainment setup. The best deal we’ve seen so far? A 50-inch TCL 5-Series on sale for $300 at Best Buy, down $180 from the usual $480 (as little as $30 per month through the superstore’s flexible 12-month installment scheme).

We’ve long said TCL makes some of the best 4K TVs in the business for the average viewer, and that the 50-inch 5-Series is living proof. OK, that was a bit of an exaggeration. The 5-Series obviously isn’t alive, but the crisp, clear 4K Ultra HD screen will have you thinking it’s a member of the family. But we digress. The reason the televisions are so incredible is that they couldn’t be easier to use. This is all down to the streamlined Roku OS smart software they ship running, which offers one-click access to the most complete selection of streaming services known to man, including Disney+ and Netflix.

There’s no need to fiddle around with streaming sticks and set-top boxes. Everything you could possibly need is supported right out of the box. But that’s just scratching the surface. There’s a lot more to the TCL 5-Series than meets the eye, and it’s these background features that make it the master all-rounder it is. For starters, there’s Dolby Vision HDR for squeezing every last drop of detail from supported content — be it a movie or show. It’s no slouch when it comes to handling fast-paced action either, so much so that Infinity Ward named it the official television of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Don’t just take our word for it, though. Let’s hear from a customer:

Bought this TV without seeing in store, before any reviews came out. I couldn’t be happier. Beautiful picture, easy to connect and use. Love the frameless screen. So many features for such a low price.

If you’re after something a bit different, there are several other 4K TV deals available now, including a 43-inch LG UM6950DUB for $350, a 50-inch Samsung NU6900 for $300, a 65-inch Samsung NU6900 for $480, a curved 65-inch Samsung RU7300 for $620, a 55-inch Sony X800G for $700, a 70-inch Vizio V-Series for $700, a 75-inch LG UM7970PUB for $950, a 65-inch Samsung Q60R QLED for $1,000, and a 55-inch LG C9 OLED for $1,500. Samsung’s massive 82-inch Q60R QLED 4K TV is also on sale for $2,600 — an astonishing $1,200 off its standard $3,800 shelf price.
