Field Commander Ships for Sony PSP

Sony Online Entertainment today announced that Field Commander, their latest PlayStation Portable title, was shipping to North American retail stores today. The turn-based strategy game is priced at $39.99.

In Field Commander, said Sony, players in this military action strategy game take the role of a field commander of a UN type organization combating terrorists. Game features of Field Commander include an arsenal of 15 army divisions and 11 commanding officers, 30 missions, extended multiplayer options, 3D environments and a mission builder.

“We are looking forward to launching Field Commander, as we were keen to develop a turn-based strategy game for the PSP system,” said Laura Naviaux, senior brand manager, Sony Online Entertainment, in a statement. “This highly anticipated game will not only fill a gap in the current games available for the PSP system, it will lead the way in its genre with its variety of multiplayer and online options, including a robust website with leader boards, map sharing and tons of features.”

The best ship modules in Helldivers 2
A scene from Helldiver 2's opening cutscene.

While the majority of your success lies in which weapons and armor you carry when facing off against the Terminids and Automatons on various missions in Helldivers 2, you shouldn't overlook what your ship can do to support you. Besides just naming your destroyer, there's far more you can do to customize it with modules. Whereas weapons and Boosters will impact you and your squad on a more constant basis, ship modules come in clutch when you need to bring out the big guns, aka Stratagems. These power weapons are already enough to turn the tide of a tough fight, but when you add in the right ship modules, you'll be cooking bugs for breakfast.
The best ship modules in Helldivers 2
Ship modules are purchased on your ship via the Ship Management Terminal. There are 18 in total, split between the Patriotic Administration Center, Orbital Cannon, Hangar Ship, Bridge Ship, and Engineer Bay categories. They are unlocked by spending samples you can collect during missions.
Donation Access License

Look, sometimes you can't argue with simplicity, and the Donation Access License is about as basic as they come. This mod gives any support weapons you call in more ammo by default, granting you more time blasting and less time waiting to call in your next one. It is a versatile mod as well since it can be applied to multiple Strategems. It applies to things like the Laser Cannon, Grenade Launcher, Railgun, Flamethrower, and more.

How to change your ship’s name in Helldivers 2
Four soldiers near an airstrike in Helldivers 2.

The most important part of any ship has to be its name. In Helldivers 2, you're fortunate enough to get a vessel all of your own right away, meaning you need to come up with a name on the spot from the available presets. If you're unprepared, you might enter something that you end up wishing you could change, but there isn't an obvious way to edit your choice after it's been made. In other games, you might need to spend some currency like Warbonds or Super Credits to alter something like this, but that's not the case here. Once you know the trick, you can alter your ship's name whenever you wish.
How to change your ship's name

Changing your ship's name takes no time at all in Helldivers 2. Just go over to the Ship Management station on the left side of the bridge. Interact with the terminal and you will be on the Destroyer tab, which has all your ship's stats, by default. On the right, you can see the option to Change Ship Name above the Ship Log. Just press Square here if you're on PlayStation 5 or R on PC to open up the prompt to choose whichever combination of words your heart desires for your defender of Super Earth. Simply apply the changes when you're happy and get back to spreading some Democracy!
