Unfortunately, there is only one way to get your hands on Blade and his cosmetics in Fortnite — and that is by purchasing various bundles (or individual cosmetics) with V-Bucks. Head to the Item Shop by tabbing over to the right from the main menu to view the options. You’ll find Blade under the Special Offers section of the shop. The most expensive option is the Blade bundle, which comes with all things Blade, including an emote and outfit. Here’s a breakdown of that bundle:

  • Blade — Outfit
  • Sword of the Daywalker — Back Bling
  • Sword of the Daywalker — Harvesting tool
  • Dayflier — Glider
  • Daywalker’s Kata — Emote

In total, this will cost you around $19.99 to grab with real money. Or, if you’ve got some V-Bucks lying around, you can pay the difference by purchasing some of the V-Bucks bundles from the store. Alternatively, you can get your hands on a less expensive Blade bundle that comes with fewer items:

You can also acquire some of the cosmetics individually. Daywalker’s Kata will set you back 300 V-Bucks, while the Dayflier glider costs 1,200 V-Bucks. If you’re short on V-Bucks, the best way to get them without spending real money is to level up your battle pass. If you complete the entire battle pass for this season, you’ll earn 1,500 V-Bucks, which will put you closer to getting your hands on the latest Blade goodies.

Leveling up the battle pass is the best way to earn V-Bucks if you don’t want to spend real money. You’ll get 100 V-Bucks when you reach levels 4, 12, 19, 26, 31, 41, 47, 52, 59, 65, 70, 78, 88, 92, and 99, for a possible 1,500 in total. The best way to level up the battle pass is by completing weekly challenges, which reward you with 25,000 XP to upwards of 50,000 XP. You don’t have to complete them all, but the more you finish, the more XP you’ll gain. Each week, we cover many of the new challenges that appear throughout the season, so make sure you check in every Thursday for the latest tips and strategies for getting through the tougher challenges.

As you level up the battle pass, you’ll also gain access to other fun cosmetics — most of which are Marvel themed for this season. These are things like emotes, outfits, weapon skins, gliders, and more.

The Device event in Fortnite Chapter 2

Fortnite players will see a big change to how they gain experience starting in December. Epic Games announced Monday that it's simplifying progress so that players can earn experience toward all three battle passes at once.

This battle pass for the battle royale portion already works like this: You can earn experience to progress through the battle pass track by playing in any Fortnite section. However, this wasn't the case with the Festival and Lego passes for Fortnite Festival and Lego Fortnite, respectively. That's changing after the current seasons and passes end later this year.
