Mortal Kombat X: Console vs. iOS

For years the Mortal Kombat video-game series delivered brutal punches and ironically lighthearted gameplay. When the franchise returned this year to Playstation 4 and Xbox One consoles, the developers also released an iOS mobile version.

In this episode of  VS. we put the long-awaited console copy of Mortal Kombat X up against it’s new mobile companion. Take an in-depth look at what’s already been deemed the fastest selling game of the franchise and the portable newcomer, as we compare controls, gameplay, and graphics between both versions.

Fortnite has dominated the gaming sphere by blending the line between traditional and mobile gaming. The latest update for Fortnite on iOS continues to do that with more support for now-standard controller inputs and a higher framerate cap, as spotted by 9to5Mac.

While Fortnite already supported Xbox One and PlayStation 4 controllers on iOS, it hadn't supported the inputs for thumbstick button presses. That changes with version 11.40 per Fortnite's change log. It will give players on iPhones and iPads more control parity with consoles, and let them more easily switch between playing on the different platforms.

Mobile gamers on iPhones who have not yet upgraded to iOS 13 may want to delay the update a bit longer, as it makes titles such as Fortnite and PUBG Mobile unplayable.

The latest iOS is packed with new features, one of which is a text-editing gesture that brings up commands such as undo, copy, and paste. The feature may be activated by pressing three fingers on the iPhone screen.
