Xbox Design Lab relaunches, adds support for Xbox Series X|S controllers

The Xbox Design Lab is back, offering tons of different customizable options to make players’ Xbox controller truly feel like their own. While the program has been around for Xbox One controllers, it now is compatible with the updated Series X/S wireless controller.

The Xbox Design Lab was introduced in 2017 and allowed players to create their own personal Xbox One controller. To the dismay of fans looking for a new controller, the site took a pause on October 14, 2020, in order to introduce undisclosed changes.

The updated site introduces tons of amazing customizable options for the next-gen Series X|S controllers,including options for the back, bumpers, triggers, D-pad, thumb sticks, ABXY face buttons, and the group of view, menu, and share buttons.

Not only are there tons of color combinations possible through this updated program, but you can also add your own personalized engraved text to the bottom center of the controller for an additional $10.

The standard customized controller goes for $70, with that $10 being added on if you want the engraved text, bringing the total to $80 plus tax for your custom Series X/S pad.

Beware of certain customized colors, as the site warns that lighter thumbstick colors may require more frequent cleaning and colors in the final product may vary from colors displayed on your device’s screen.

Players can put together and order their own personal controller for the next-gen Xbox at the official Xbox Design Lab site. The site claims that Xbox players can get their controller as soon as July 22.

Xbox’s anticipated mid-generation console refresh might be right around the corner. Over the past few weeks, there have been some rumblings that an all-white Xbox Series X may be coming this year. That rumor kicked into second gear when Exputer posted photos it says it received of the device. The leaked images show a standard Xbox Series X with a white casing. The design is about the same, but there’s one key difference: It doesn’t have a disk drive. If the rumors are proven true, that’ll be the system’s selling point, potentially putting it at a lower price point than the current Series X.

Visions of Mana paints a promising picture of the RPG series’ return

The vibrant settings and character designs in Visions of Mana instantly alerted me that I'd be knee-deep into fantasy, riding on the back of a giant black wolf into the grassy plains of Fallow Steppe. A lush landscape welcomed me as I chatted with my teammates on top of my mount and tussled with little woodland monsters.

I had this experience at this year's PAX East, where I went hands-on with a demo of the upcoming RPG. I never played previous Mana games, but I have enough experience with RPGs and real-time combat to name it one of the most gorgeous, action-packed games I played at the show. The shiny open-world and slick combat I experienced point to a strong comeback for the Mana series coming later this summer.

Dragon’s Dogma 2’s first updates will tackle its PC performance issues

Capcom revealed what the first updates for Dragon's Dogma 2 will fix and change following the RPG's first weekend on the market.

Dragon's Dogma 2 launched on March 22. While it garnered positive reviews, it also had a bevy of technical issues, particularly on PC. Capcom admitted it was aware of Dragon's Dogma 2's optimization problem on the day it launched and is now outlining the first steps being taken to improve things via game updates. On PC, Capcom will release an update that will improve DLSS Super Resolution quality and fix "an issue where models appeared low-quality under some specific settings."
