Apple takes control over iPhone porn domain names

apple iporn largeIf you have been trying to visit an Apple iPhone website, but keep getting sent to porn sites Apple has good news for you. Apple is now the proud owner of seven domain names that make use of the term “iPhone” and various porn references. The eight domains in questions redirect mobile users to a porn website.

Here is the full list of the domains in question:

iphonecamforce.com

iphonecam4s.com

iphoneporn4s.com

iphonesex4s.com

iphonexxxforce.com

iphone4s.com

porn4iphones.com

While six of those domain names sound like porn websites, the one that stands out is of course iPhone4s.com. It wouldn’t be a complete surprise if someone typed in “porn4iphones.com” and found a porn site located there. It would be a shock if someone typed in “iPhone4s.com” it would be a shock to find porn at that site.

Apple filed a complaint to the World Intellectual Property Forum against the former owner of the seven domain names. Apple terminated the case against the owner after it turned over the domain names, there is no information about if there was any cash changing hands in this change over.

At the time of writing this story the domains in question are still being redirected to the porn site when being viewed on a mobile browser. Steve Jobs famously made a point that if someone wants to look at porn they should use and Android device, so having all these iPhone domains linked to porn have to be a little unsettling for Apple.

We imagine that most of the links will forever be dead, but it seems likely that Apple might make use of the iphone4s.com domain for something in the future. Once those links go dead and you want to view some porn on your iOS device you will have to stick with Playboy.

How to download iOS 18 on your iPhone
The Settings app on an iPhone showing the iOS 18 public beta.

If you've been itching to try out some of the latest new features in iOS 18, you'll be happy to know that Apple has finally unleashed its first round of public betas for this year's major iPhone software release. While it's likely to be going out to everyone in September alongside this year's iPhone 16 models, early adopters can now get a sneak peek without risking the uncertainties of running a developer beta.

While you'll still encounter a few bugs, and not every feature is here yet — the "Apple Intelligence" AI enhancements aren't coming for another few weeks — the betas are considered stable enough to run on your everyday device. Leaving AI aside, you'll still be able to enjoy a more customizable home screen experience, some big redesigns for the Control Center and Photos apps, new effects in Messages, and functional RCS support on most carriers.

Does the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 work with the iPhone?
The display turned on on the Galaxy Watch 7.

Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch 7 may not look like much of an upgrade over its predecessor at first glance, but it packs some significant improvements under the hood that could be enough to tip the scales for those who have been thinking about jumping into one of Samsung’s latest wearables.

The latest Galaxy Watch adopts a classy green as its standard finish but otherwise retains the same iconic rounded design with a bright and crisp edge-to-edge display and compatibility with a broad assortment of watch bands. However, on the inside, you’ll find a new five-core Exynos W1000 chip that promises to deliver three times the performance of the Galaxy Watch 6, upgraded health sensors, a more accurate GPS, and the first Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-authorized Sleep Apnea feature.
