Apple takes control over iPhone porn domain names

apple iporn largeIf you have been trying to visit an Apple iPhone website, but keep getting sent to porn sites Apple has good news for you. Apple is now the proud owner of seven domain names that make use of the term “iPhone” and various porn references. The eight domains in questions redirect mobile users to a porn website.

Here is the full list of the domains in question:

While six of those domain names sound like porn websites, the one that stands out is of course iPhone4s.com. It wouldn’t be a complete surprise if someone typed in “porn4iphones.com” and found a porn site located there. It would be a shock if someone typed in “iPhone4s.com” it would be a shock to find porn at that site.

Apple filed a complaint to the World Intellectual Property Forum against the former owner of the seven domain names. Apple terminated the case against the owner after it turned over the domain names, there is no information about if there was any cash changing hands in this change over.

At the time of writing this story the domains in question are still being redirected to the porn site when being viewed on a mobile browser. Steve Jobs famously made a point that if someone wants to look at porn they should use and Android device, so having all these iPhone domains linked to porn have to be a little unsettling for Apple.

We imagine that most of the links will forever be dead, but it seems likely that Apple might make use of the iphone4s.com domain for something in the future. Once those links go dead and you want to view some porn on your iOS device you will have to stick with Playboy.

Transferring an eSIM from an old iPhone to an iPhone 14.

While there's a lot to love about the iPhone 14, its lack of a SIM card tray in the U.S. variant was controversial, to say the least. Unfortunately, it looks like the iPhone 15 will be following its predecessor's lead and ditching the SIM card tray as well — this time for models across the globe, not just in the U.S.

According to a report by French publication iGeneration, the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro are likely to be released "without a physical SIM card in France." Although France is just one country, if iPhones are losing their SIM card slots in Europe as well as the U.S., then it seems likely that they'll be disappearing entirely for the upcoming generation.
