Special internal ribbing around the frame provides some protection from falls and bumps, though this isn’t a really rugged case. It is fully compatible with Apple’s Smart Cover, and it has a nifty holder for your Apple Pencil.

These chic, eye-catching cases from Incipio are crafted from hard, scratch-resistant, translucent plastic with stylish metallic foil designs inside that really catch the light. You’ll also find a raised lip around the screen and soft button covers. Your choice of designs includes spring flowers with a light pink cover, silver sparkles with a gray cover, or cool blossoms with a brighter pink cover.

With a solid industrial aesthetic, this iPad Pro 10.5 case is every bit as tough as it looks. The cover feels and looks luxurious — we prefer the tan, but you can also get it in black with red stitching. It also supports the automatic sleep/wake functionality and there’s a special slot so you can fold the cover to use it as a stand.
Targus VersaVu Signature Series Case ($60)
If you want to be able to rotate your iPad and prop it up in either landscape or portrait view, then you need to check out this Targus case. It’s the only iPad Pro 10.5 case with 360-degree rotation. It also offers drop protection up to 4 feet, has an Apple Pencil holder on the back, and sports a secure latch. The protective shell is quite thick, but it cleverly redirects sound to the front, and has accurate cut-outs for everything else. The blend of exterior materials with brushed metal accents is quite stylish, but Targus also offers a plainer classic case in red, black, and purple. The classic is $10 cheaper, but it has a different catch and lacks the stylus holder.
Logitech Slim Combo Keyboard Case ($130)
This combo case includes a protective shell and cover, along with a detachable keyboard. The keyboard sports well-spaced, backlit keys, and attaches via Apple’s Smart Connector for easy pairing and charging. The outer cover is durable and easy to clean, and your iPad will automatically wake when you open it. You can also use it to prop up your iPad at four different angles, some of which are better for typing, reading, and video chatting. There’s even a convenient holder for your Apple Pencil. This case comes in black or blue.
Speck Balance Folio Case ($40)
If you primarily want drop and scratch protection, then Speck’s folio case is the ideal solution. The durable case can withstand falls from up to four feet, has a bezel that extends around the screen, and sports a soft interior lining that safeguards your iPad Pro 10.5. If you open the cover, which locks securely with a special clasp, you’ll find it supports multiple angles for typing or reading comfortably. Don’t worry, though — the latter component is removable, residue-free, and can be reattached. The finish comes in either a chestnut or a lighter, whisky variety.

You’ll also find accurate cut-outs for your tablet’s Touch ID sensor camera, and speakers, as well as a handy kickstand that makes it easy to prop up your iPad in landscape mode. You’ll get good protection with this case, but it does impact usability and clashes with the iPad’s style.
