Lenovo Offers One Adapter to Rule Them All

Anyone who has to take mobile electronics on the road with them for any length of time will tell you one thing: carrying around all the power adapters necessary to keep those devices charged and ready to go is no simple task. To that end, Lenovo wants to help out owners of its ThinkPad, IdeaPad, and Lenovo 3000 notebooks with its 90W Slim AC/DC Combo Adapter, which will not only charge up a Lenovo notebook, but with interchangeable tips can be used to charge many cell phones and PDAs—which means fewer bricks to carry around.

“The introduction of the Lenovo Combo adapter will help to significantly improve the mobility of our notebook PC customers,” said Lenovo’s VP of software and peripherals Bob Galush, in s statement. “We’ve made staying connected easier for the business traveler. Our new adapter allows users to charge current and legacy ThinkPads, IdeaPads, most major PDAs and phones and even two devices at once.”

Lenovo’s Slim Combo Adapter is about 25 percent lighter than previous models, and comes with three interchangeable tips (more tips can be purchased separately), AC and DC cables, and a carrying pouch. The adapter is available now for $109, but not it doesn’t push enough juice for Lenovo’s 135W Y710 notebooks.
